Ketogenic Desserts and Sweet Snacks: Mouth-watering, fat burning and energy boosting treats (Elizabeth Jane Cookbook)

WASTE OF MONEY
I purchased "Ketogenic Desserts & Sweet Snacks" and the "Keto Bread Bakers Cookbook," both by Elizabeth Jane. Both books are very thin paperbacks containing less than 40 pages each; they are more like booklets than actual "books." I would not recommend either book, or probably any other book by Ms. Jane. I am submitting a review for each of the 2 books I bought. The KETO DESSERTS cookbook by Elizabeth Jane contains 26 recipes within 36 numbered pages. At least 2 pages are used to promote Ms. Jane's other "books," all of which I assume are also more like booklets than actual books. In the Desserts book, most of the recipes include the name of the dish and a photo of the finished product, but on page 35, the author forgot to include the name of the dessert (it's the No-Flour Almond Butter Cookie), and on page 36, she forgot to include a photo of the Snickerdoodle Bites. The author never discusses what size eggs to use in each recipe. Sometimes a recipe says to use large eggs; at other times, a recipe just says "eggs." In nearly every recipe, readers are told to line or spray "a pan" or "mini muffin tin" or "small tart pan" or "baking sheet" or "ramekin" that is "small" or "metal," and so forth. Based upon such vague terms, I wonder what size pan or sheet or ramekin? Who knows? Ms. Jane writes that readers should use "Grade B" maple syrup, or stevia extract, or erythritol. Why Grade B? If you can't find that, you probably could use Grade A Dark and get similar results. Ms. Jane offers no reason as to why we need to use "Grade B" syrup (which is not readily available in most markets). Perhaps she thinks it is less refined than Grade A syrup, but NO pure maple syrup is ever refined. She also does not even mention agave nectar, which has far less impact on blood sugar than maple syrup does. I am no expert on the topic of "keto," but the recipes seem to use copious amounts of eggs and a lot of expensive almond flour and numerous other ingredients – many quite pricey – that are not in the average consumer's pantry, so I would not describe these recipes as budget-friendly. Who wants to spend $25 on non-standard ingredients to make one loaf of bread, just to find out whether or not they like it? The recipes also use a lot of coconut flour, coconut butter, and coconut cream, and coconut is high in calories and saturated fats, so I would not call the recipes especially healthy either. I am sorry I bought these books, but I will not be buying any more "books" by Ms. Jane.

Love the Pics and Recipes - So Easy!
I've been struggling with wanting more sweets on my diet. I am a lover of sweets! In the first page of the book there are benefits of the ketogenic diet written. It is followed by an overview of the diet. If the reader wants more details about the diet, the author suggested another book for that. The book contains 20 keto dessert recipes. The recipes all have the preparation and cooking time, number of servings, ingredients, directions, nutrition facts and photos. The ingredients of the recipes are easy to find and are accessible. Author Elizabeth Jane even included suggestions for alternatives of the ingredients. For the nutrition facts, there is the total carbohydrates, dietary fiber, net carbs, protein, total fat, and calories per serving of the recipe. The instructions are well detailed and very simple to follow. In this book, you can prepare yourself a sweet and nutritious treat in 30 minutes or less. That includes the preparation time and the cooking time. My favorite is the Delicious Chocolate Cream Cake. I am inspired to go into the kitchen and play with the ingredients after reading this book. Next week I am trying the Easy Blueberry Ice Cream that I can make for only 15 minutes. This book is recommended for all low carb, keto enthusiasts, and those who want to try keto diet and prepare delicious, simple, and nourishing desserts that are fast to prepare. If you happen to have a sweet tooth, then this book is also for you.

Heads above other Keto cookbooks!!!!
I am now an Elizabeth Jane devotee. I have downloaded many Keto books since starting my own Keto journey. Her books are heads above any other Keto recipe books I have purchased. The ingredients are simple, the recipes are easy and the nutritional listings are so very helpful. Many of the goodies in this book have extremely low net carbs. Since I am new to Keto (about 3 months now) I really want to keep my carbs as super low as possible. I have been avoiding any baking as most of the recipes in other books were complicated and had way too many net carbs. I have not tried any of these recipes yet but just reading them has my mouth watering. I am looking forward to collecting ALL of her books!!!!!

Really Ketogenic.
I'm surprised; these really are low carb. I have bought so many books of diabetic recipes written by someone who really didn't understand the requirements. I have even seen low fat recipes passed off as diabetic, So I have become a skeptic about low carb claims. For the record, I'm a type 2 diabetic and have to limit carbohydrates as much as possible, but fats are actually beneficial to me because they inhibit the absorption of sugars. That's why so called 'fat bombs' work. I just bought the book and looked through it but haven't tried any of the recipes yet but I can see they are safe for type 2 diabetes. If you are type 1, talk to your doctor first.

That the receipt called for an ingredient that was never used in the directions.
So the very first receipt and so far only one my daughter and I did was the one on the cover. We followed it to a T and it turned out awful! It could have been is though. But what I really wanted to ask is the receipt called for coconut milk, but then in the directions, it was never called for to use it! So maybe if we used it, would it have been better?

I collect cookbooks. This is excellent!
Someone said the cover photo was not in the book. It IS on pages 11 and 12. It has 8 servings. Easy to half. net carbs 5g. 305 calories. Very clear instructions. I am going to make peanut butter thump prints and use the dark chocolate filling, rather than SF jam. I have to be gluten free, the recipes are clearly labeled. I did not do a photo of rich chocolate pudding. I dislike coconut so am subbing almond milk and heavy cream. Very happy I purchased.

Mouth watering recipes
This is a very good book to read especially for all those people who love keto desserts and sweet snacks. Wow, there's a lot of recipes that look really good in here. It is stylish and rich in design, as well as in the breadth of desserts that are offered. I have already tried 4 recipes from this amazing book. It is indeed a very informative book and I highly recommend this book to all the people who loves eating desserts. Give it a try.

Healthy / organic / cost officiant for a family / couple on budgets
So far so good made a few deserts from this the chocolate brownies & the coconut macaroons , the great thing is , is no sugar & 0 / low carbs , hubby kids loving them, although still early doors , have great wisdom this book is gong to be heavily used , as it’s for health reasons iv gone on the high protein & low / no carb, 0 sugar , & all organic products I’ve been using , so for what you get here is a way to have your healthy organic deserts that is not going to break the bank, if you bought them direct from a shop, that you have no control what is being put in them, or if what’s on the ingredients is true !! So this is a cheap way for a family to stay healthy , it’s treats

Not worth it.
This "book" if I could call it that, it being paper then and all is not worth the money. The instructions are terrible and what you get when you make the stuff never ends up like what is shown in the pictures in the book, it's completely false advertising. There is ingredients in the chocolate cake recipe that it tells you to get but doesn't tell you how to use it in the instructions, it's like these recipes weren't even proof read before this was published. The instructions are god awful and I can't stress enough how hard they are to follow on some of the recipes, they are just badly worded and seems way more convoluted than it needs to be. There is a few good ideas in this book but the execution is piss poor. This book just isn't good and the 5 star reviews im seeing here are extremely suspect. Avoid.

Too complicated
This book is not clear in many ways. The author talks about 2 sweetners only and then asks for different ones in recipes (for e.g. brown sugar replacement sweetner. Which is that? how am I supposed to know?? ) ! Plus the recipes are very complicated.
