Well structured, tons of insights
So first, this book does what it promises: it explains how to get an interview at a top consulting firm and how to ace that interview. It lays this all out in a detailed but also straightforward and practical way. So the book is a great resource for anyone who knows they want to go into consulting. But personally, what I really love is that the book starts with a section on what management consulting really is, and whether you (the reader) should pursue it. The author is honest about the culture, the lifestyle, and the pros and cons, and he does this so that you can make the best choice possible for yourself. If you are considering applying to consulting firms but aren't yet sure whether it's really the path for you, that section is a great gift. You'll likely find after reading this section that you should pursue other paths or that you are now more excited than ever to prepare for your application.

More likely to go to jail than to Yale
That's the motto of Davis's high schoolHe's one of those guys who when you hear his story, you're like "Damn, that's the immigrant American Dream story at it's fullest."He's chock-full of parables such as1. How he emailed the student newspaper editors of multiple prestigious universities to get feedback on his college entrance essay2. The time he listened to a talk by a successful business person who off the cuff offered an internship to anyone who would actually show up at his door (an offer no one had actually taken him up on), and he actually did, leading to a transformative summer internship.3. How his mother's potentially crippling medical bill led him to get serious about My Consulting Offer4. The time he flew to Singapore to secure a hire and out compete the others tending offers5. Going to a conference where Alex Hormozi was speaking and then meeting him and getting invited to a private dinner with himSomehow Davis ends up in situations that others could only dream of, and that's because he has no hesitation in going after what he wants.I bought this book because I was going through some career changes and thinking of becoming a management consultant.I bought this and other books like Case In Point and Case Interview Secrets to learn more but this book was by far the best. Not only does Davis cover how to pass the case interview. He also talked about what it is like to be a management consultant to help you decide if it is the right career for you and how to write your resume, cover letter, and pass the online assessments. The bonuses at the end of the chapters had actionable links to learn more and help you get started in management consulting.Full Disclaimer: I've known David Nguyen professionally for the past 3 years and he's one of the most impressive and admiral business persons I know.

Excellent Case and Fit Prep
This book provided an easy to understand approach for case study prep and provided a strong framework for Fit/behavioral interviews. I will use most of this info during my own preparation while adjusting some based on my experienced hire status.

Time savings and comprehensive prep - highly recommend!
This book really helped me organize myself to prepare for interviews. It is aimed primarily at an audience of college graduates or MBA graduates trying to enter consulting directly, but still provided valuable general insights. It is well structured and provides encouragement to practice directly and with the right people to help improve in the right areas ahead of interviewing.

Finally! The Resource I Needed for This Consulting Journey 🚀
Okay, I'll be honest here. I was that person in college who dreamt of the "Big Three" glory –working at McKinsey, BCG, or Bain. I knew the path was full of those scary case interviews and those odds... man, they're not in your favor. But then I stumbled upon 'Case Interview Decoded,' and it made the odds seem a lot more favorable for me.I've been down the consulting prep rabbit hole - pages after pages of 'Case In Point' and those so-called 'Case Interview Secrets.' But this book? It's different. Instead of just giving you those dry frameworks and leaving you on your own, it's like having a wise old friend guiding you. It's not just about the 'what'; it delves into the 'how.'I loved that the author didn’t force-feed a framework or techniques but really took the time to explain in simple terms how to think like a consultant. It made learning the concepts on easy.If I have to nitpick, the only thing that was a tad overwhelming was the sheer number of examples, especially when going through the case and fit interview chapters.

Built up confidence about my applications and case interviews
When I first considered a career in management consulting, I was quickly overwhelmed by the sheer volume of resources available. However, many lacked the depth and breadth necessary to fully understand the nuances of case interview. I felt myself asking more questions. That's when I stumbled upon 'Case Interview Decoded' - this was the first book I read that left me feeling like I could confidently apply to firms like Bain, McKinsey, BCG and have a great chance of landing the interview and offer. What I like is that the book dives deep into various aspects of the recruiting process and also the case interview from start to end.I also really appreciated the free videos at the end of each chapter where I can see what a great case interview performance looks like. Davis was more than just an author, it was like he was mentoring me throughout the whole application process. I wish I had read this book first.
