Excellent Loppers - really pleased with my choice
I previously had an anvil loppers that was very similar in style to the "S & J Razorsharp Advance Heavy Duty Telescopic Ratchet Anvil Lopper" but from Aldi. This worked a treat for many years until the blade broke. I was almost set on getting the S&J loppers above as it would be a direct known good replacement but decided to take a chance on this one instead. One of the big draws for me was it indicated that it could cut up to 60 mm branches. and I'm pretty sure it did. I tried it out the day I got it. Its very sharp and cuts really cleanly and a branch that was about 60 mm or maybe even a bit more (didn't think to take a picture). Now it doesn't have telescopic handles like my previous loppers but its handles are reasonably long which gives plenty of leverage. The ratchet mechanism is very smooth and the great advantage of it compared to my old one is that you don't have to open the handles wide in order to get it to ratchet to the next setting. Great when you're literally in the thick of it. The other thing that I found good was being able to switch it to non ratchet mode, basically it allows you to cut small branch with just a regular cutting motion. My old one just did ratchet mode and cutting small stuff and having to ratchet the cutter repeatedly to get down to it was a pain - in fact I usually switched to using a seceteurs but that could be a strain. Anyway I'm really impressed with this loppers and its also my first time purchasing something made by Davaon. I have to say this looks well built and I think will last the test of time.

Pro Telescopic Anvil Lopper: Best Value for Money
Thanks to google, I have thoroughly searched and read the full reviews of more than ten different types of branch cutters. I found the Pro Telescopic Anvil Lopper to be the best in terms of price and functionality. It is also ergonomically designed with aesthetically pleasing aluminium and green colours. It is light weight and cuts thick branches effortlessly due to its unique, genius, and high ratio leverage design. It can be used straight out of the box and requires no assembly or adjustments. It also comes with a blade protection pouch which helps the lopper to be hooked on the tools rack during storage. It is fully guaranteed for one year with 24/7 help line and advice. I have used it now for one week to cut loads of thin and thick branches that filled more than fifty bags of garden waste. I believe it has paid for itself so far and it appears to be indestructible and is going to last for a very long time. I am very glad that I have bought this and also started saving a pound/week in order to buy one for my wife as I hate sharing such a pleasurable tool with others.

Good or not? Maybe? Not
I received mine today and managed to get a job done that i had been putting off for a while. After unpacking the loppers from the excessive packaging i found the loppers, and on first sight they look quite well made, i then tried to remove the label card fastening the handles together that is held with 4 zip ties which are that tight it makes it hard work to remove it before you can use the loppers. The loppers are sharp, easy to use and do extend to a useful length and the ratchet system works well so far. Firstly i have to say I tested it on 1/2"- 1 1/2" branches, the smaller ones it went through with ease, thicker ones is where the ratchet system comes into action, and give them their due they cut with relative ease, although a fair bit more force is required, the thicker the branches get, but they did the job. OK thats the good points, now for the bad. To extend the arms you have to twist the ends of the handles which only go one way so look at the arrow for direction, they are also are quite hard to turn, I extended the handles to the max position and tried all thicknesses again, the thin branches are no problem, but cutting thicker than 1" to the max of 1.77" (45mm max guaranteed cutting thickness) with the handles extended is where the problem starts. It is going to cut it, but you will end up with bending the handles so care is needed and proper use of the ratchet system is a must, but the handles are not really up to the job and i would suggest not exceeding a 1" thickness if extended . Also after using for half an hour or so, they do get very end heavy when used fully extended. In conclusion, they are reasonably good loppers and will probably last and give good service. In my opinion these loppers should not be made using aluminium handle extensions and I think they need to do a re design on them, otherwise they are sharp and work well, time will tell, and as always, I will update my review as and when i have more to add. Just an update As I expected, the alloy handles can’t take the pace and they have bent cutting a 1” branch, straightened them but I would suggest you purchase ones with steel handles, I’ve revamped my old ones and am using them now.

Great sturdy loppers. Much better than my old bypass loppers
I've had these about a week now, and I have to say they've been excellent. I had some old "bypass" loppers that would always get stuck with anything more than half an inch, and I'd end up struggling to cut through and even free the looppers It's early days but these have gone through everything I've thrown at them. In my experience, if the branch can get fully within the jaws, then these will cut through it. Mostly a single chop is enough but if not, then several repeated items and closes off the handles sees them chomp through. I like the mechanism for extending the handles. You twist the end, extend or shrink the arms, and then twist back to lock. Much better than my old loppers where I had to turn the whole lower handle and it would often jam because it was the same place where you exerted effort. Weight wise, yes they are relatively heavy. Continued use would be tiring on the arms especially if holding them elevated. The plus side is that they seem sturdy and they do the job quickly and efficiently so hopefully not having to use them for extended periods at a time. I'm six foot, male but don't work out and don't have huge biceps muscles but I'm still reasonably strong, so I can see that some would find them quite tiring, but on the other hand they do a lot of the work for you. I did find them quite a joy to use especially given how poorly performing my old loppers were. I found myself walking round the garden chopping anything I could find to test them out, and I was not once disappointed with their performance. I would say that the stated capability re thickness of branches they can lop is about right, and certainly not exaggerated. In fact I have been amazed at what they will cut.. Things that previously I had needed a treesaw for. So in summary they appear robust. They've worked well on everything I've tried. I would say they might not loop cleanly if the branch isn't fully between the jaws (ie if its only in the outer part of the jaws), but I think the greatest pressure would be excreted by the inner part of the jar so not surprising. Overall I'm very pleased. Wish I'd bought these ages ago.

Great pruners
I have used these in my work throughout the season on lots of different trees and shrubs. They are efficient at cutting through branches and easy to maneuver and extend due to their light but sturdy construction. provided I keep them sharp, lightly oiled and do not twist them during the cutting action or take on over sized branches I expect them to last for years. I do not often buy tools from manufacturers I have not heard of (I am a snap-on man) but these are, in my opinion worthy of the space in my van. I would like to try their secateurs at some point in the future. maybe they can send me some to review? Although sadly I have a bit of a habit of throwing secateurs out with my hedge clippings!

Fantastic product
Well, this is my second review and an update on these I bought them in jan 2018, and they are used mainly to take out brambles , and nearly 2 years later they are still sharp, still cutting out the brambles I have 4 acres so not just a little bush, oh do we have brambles, but I also use them all the time for small branches and other trees etc, brillant light weight, a couple hours of use my wrists ache but 2 whole hours of no ache, fantastic product and they last and do not rust, brillant value for money, hoping to get another year plus out of them, please note I use them for heavy use, will not be buying any other product thank you Davaon 5 stars all the way

Rugged, powerful and efficient.
I bought these after staring for days at the 70ft of privet hedge threatening to take over my rear garden. We moved to a new house a couple of years ago and I was struggling to keep one hedge in order. It was wildly overgrown and our neighbour was not keen on wholesale cut down and let it start again as I had done with the other hedge. Thinning out the hedge was the only option. My chainsaws were too indiscriminate and my hand pruners were struggling. I bought these pruners and I got the job done in a couple days. The features I most liked were the quality of the cutting blade and the adjustable handles which allowed me to achieve a long reach and to cut thick branches. These are well made and are good value for money.

Excellent Loppers
Brought these to use on the overhanging tree from our neighbour’s garden. We all worked together on both sides using them - they were really excellent. Cut like a knife through butter (the branches weren’t thick, just long). My partner then used them to cut through a very thick vine stump - worked superbly. They are telescopic and go up to a metre long. Considering they were very reasonably priced, represent extremely good value for money. Very pleased.
