Really Interesting Book
Let me start this review by saying that if you only downloaded the free sample, you could be forgiven for wondering whether to buy the full version, as I did (i was worried that I might end up launching my kindle out of the window), because the tone seemed a bit off - as in snarky. By this I mean that Dave didn't just say something, he boasted or bragged about it. It was only after reading Mick Wall's blog (all the way through over the course of a weekend), which had a couple of posts which appeared to show sincere admiration for what Dave has achieved (if not the man himself), that I made the decision to purchase the book. And Im glad I did. The snark seemed to fall off, and what remains was a thoroughly absorbing and interesting read. Yes, the gist of it has been covered before in other books, but there were different (or more honest perspectives) from people who were close to Nirvana and the Foo Fighters. Mick has also made it clear that he is not into hero-worship of rock stars, and accordingly the book does call Dave Grohl out on some of the disingenuous BS that he has come out with.

Exactly what you can expect from a Mick Wall biography
I've read several Grohl's biogs and this is by far the best, in my opinion. Other biogs are blindly flattering and 'go along with the programme', however, this is a Mick Wall book so it means the writer is at times raw and crude, basically, exactly what you need on a rock 'n roll book.

Should have checked his facts.
Enjoyable read for a detailed history of Dave Grohl - nothing on the other hand members though so really just a Dave biography. Quite a few fact errors and silly mistakes were quite annoying and made me question how accurate some of the other "facts" are.

Not the best music biography I've read
Rather strange biography. Almost everything interesting in here can be found in the Back And Forth, Sonic Highways and Sound City documentaries. I don't think I learned very much new, and despite starting off by stating categorically that the story of the Foos is the story of Dave Grohl and nobody else, about the first third of the book is about Kurt Cobain - and not Grohl's relationship/friendship with Cobain, just about Kurt (Dave basically appears as if an afterthought). Relies heavily on other author's work, too, leaving little new analysis or content. Felt rushed.

Boa leitura para conhecer melhor uma das bandas de maior sucesso no mundo. Fácil leitura de lazer e com relatos de fatos curiosos sobre os Foo Fighters, especialmente seu líder, Dave Grohl.

Not what I expected
First 126 pages had more details about Kurt Cobain than Foo Fighters. Seemed like the book was just a bunch of quotes from other sources strung together with very little original thought.
