This should have been a simple assembly, but nope. I was assembling this on my livingroom floor. I had all of the pieces in line with the wood dowels but when I put the first screw into the side panel "snap" ... one of the very brittle dowels broke. In an attempt to align the shelf another snapped. This was not my first rodeo assembling things like this. Tried to finish assembling thinking I could find a way to hold up that shelf later and I barely touched this thing, and snap snap snap as you could hear more dowels breaking. BARELY touched it. I had put the screw in the hole and before I could screw it in those dowels were snapping. This is a very low quality product and I suppose you get what you pay for. I would not recommend this product

The unit is overall good and sturdy. The issue is, there are no longer plastic tabs provided to place in and cover the screws. They provide white STICKERS! Seriously?! How cheap can we be? The stickers are just white round flat stickers that cover the screws but are so thin that you still see the screws through the thin sticker. The instructions still state that tabs are provided; they are not. Quality continues to go down while prices continue to go up. I have this placed underneath a table for storage. So, for me, it is not a deal breaker; however, if it were out in the open where it could be seen, I would send it back as the stickers look just like they are: cheap and ugly!

Very cheaply made, I slightly missed hitting the 1/2 very-low-quality pressed-board with 2 of the rear panel nails and both resulted in the pressed-wood breaking nickel-sized chunks which I pressed back in and glued down with the enclosed white-dots-covers. Those white-dot-covers are thin and the screw heads are counter-sunk so you will get a slight dimple if you press down on the covers too hard but they stick too well because the colored finish of the pressed-wood is only paper which I found out when I had to remove one of the glue-on white cover dots and it tore off a divot of the white finish so I had to use tow white dots to cover the screw top and the portion where the white paper finish tore off. the sook-shelf sections were not tight when putting together; the dowels were loose so until I got the top panel screwed on it was difficult to keep those sections lined up. Other than that, it was fairly easy to assemble. I purchased 1" swivel wheels to put on the shelving-unit, and because the depth of the pressed-wood was only 1/2" thick I had to nip off the ends of the wheels' screws so they would not go through it. I purchased from this company because it was based here in the States and it was the correct size I needed to fit beneath my window space, but the bookshelf itself is made in China and is sorely low quality materials. I do not recommend this at all especially for the high price it is sold for. It will do the job needed but not satisfied with the quality of the materials.

I bought the 6-cube, 13.5" shelf opening storage organizer in light oak for a bedroom to replace a wider and bulkier dresser for clothes storage. This 13.5" deep cube storage opens up more floor space in a small room. I also ordered the 13" Amazon Basics fabric storage bins to insert into the cube openings but have not yet installed them. The inserts will help contain smaller items (socks, etc.) and hide the contents, providing a uniform look to the front of the storage unit. The cube storage is paired next to a small, folding desk, also available at Amazon. Photos show the different types of clothing/articles that can be stored in the 13.5" cubes, including books and 12" notebooks or binders. Consider what you want to store to determine the opening size and number of cubes before ordering any cube storage unit. Instructions were clear and easy to follow for assembly. One person can do it. Fortunately all the predrilled holes lined up correctly and the unit fit together squarely. The small, round stickers provided to cover the screw heads match the finish well and are barely visible once applied. I give this storage system 4 out of 5 stars because of the press board material. If a screw or nail is jammed in incorrectly (not completely straight), it could splinter the material. I applied the self-stick, felt type pads to the bottom of the unit so that it could glide over our hardwood floors without marring the surface. The storage unit can now be moved and repositioned easily without scratching the floors.

Product arrived with broken square piece. Otherwise, the shelf is nice and easy to assemble. Chipped piece was a square inside piece, so it was easy to hide, but still disappointing with the price we paid for the shelf.

Terrible quality. Broke immediately. Difficult to put together. Wood dowels broken upon arrival. Cheap press board. Do not buy

I rarely write bad reviews, but the quality of this organizer/shelving unit is not what we were expecting for our nursery! Very cheap-y seeming. The "wood" is like particle board. When assembling it, the wood split when the screw went into the wood in 3 of the cubes, revealing the wood color beneath the white coating in several spots. Also, the screws show on the top of the unit once it's completely built; the covers that were provided to hide the screws are literally thin white sticker dots that look crappy. (Ignore the fact that we put the back piece on backwards; there is an option for the backing that shows through the cubes to be white if you're looking for that)
