The SC Products 2 In 1 Expandable Cabin Bag is a budget bag that can either be used on airlines with hand luggage restrictions, or fit over the handle of a conventional suitcase to provide additional storage. The 2 in 1 nature of the bag is that it can be zipped up at the bottom of the bag to meet Ryan Air standards, or unzipped to provide additional space whilst meeting the hand luggage restrictions of Easy Jet and several other airlines.To reach the pricepoint, there are some compromises with quality. The bag doesn't feel particularly robust. There is a pocket that goes over a suitcase handle, but In both zipped and unzipped states, it doesn't rest firmly on the suitcase. If used in this way, it will wobble about a bit. The quality issue is most obvious with the expandable zip at the bottom of the bag that feels quite flimsy. Opening and closing the bottom zip is a bit of an adventure - but it has survived a number of 'test' openings and closing so perhaps it is better than it appears. Overall it is not a bag that feels as though it will last a long time.Most potential purchasers will realise this. An expandable bag costing less than £10 is unlikely to meet the same standards as a bag costing £30, and the rating is for a budget, rather than premium bag. Provided that some common sense is used in packing, the SC Products bag can do a reasonable job for a limited amount of journeys.

Very handy item for travel.

This is a great compact yet expandable travel bag that meets the new cabin baggage size for those popular budget airlines. The bag itself is made from a nice quality fabric and the zipper closes up the bottom section reducing the size of the bag with ease. The only reason for 4 stars not 5 it could really do with a shoulder strap. Otherwise a great compact and expandable bag for your travels

I recently experienced my first flight on Ryan Air, where you need a small bag with the airlines specified measurements for under the seat. As we intend to use this route and carrier more often in future. I ordered this bag in addition to the one we recently purchased. (Different brand from Amazon)On opening the package my first impressions were the size and the quality. It appeared to be larger than my other bag, which I knew met the requirements. I then realised it was extended, so once I had zipped up the bag around the bottom and clipped down the sides, it significantly reduced in size. I imagine the extendable part will be great for using when you are not travelling on Ryan Air but doesn’t really benefit when you are. I would check the measurements when fully extended and full of items, as I suspect it could push it over the requirements.The quality is thin and I’m a bit dubious whether the bag will sufficiently handle the weight and volume of clothes expected for a long weekend/week, without the strap tearing from the bag or the zip failing. I need this bag to hold as much as possible to save extra charges for additional luggage and I want to be confident it is manufactured to a standard to do that. Currently I am not feeling this when looking at the bag.I am planning on putting it to the test on a trip to Centreparcs where if it fails it won’t be as detrimental. In my opinion there’s better quality and more stylish approved cabin bags on the market for similar or only slightly more money.
