The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (PS2)
This game brings back memories. Used to play it for hours at a time when I was younger. For me, it's a classic because of how well it kept me entertained and because of the feeling of nostalgia it brings me today. Being a fan of author J.R.R. Tolkien's stories of Middle-earth, I was very pleased with how accurately adapted Vivendi Universal's 'The Fellowship of the Ring' for PS2 was. It followed Tolkien's first story in 'The Lord of the Rings' saga very well. Moments you don't see in the Peter Jackson movie trilogy are revealed here: The Old Forest, Tom Bombadil and Goldberry, The Barrow-downs, etc. While this game is far from perfect and was ultimately overshadowed by EA's movie based 'The Two Tower's' at the time, it still managed to keep me well entertained and impressed by how closely the storyline followed Tolkien's work. For it's time, the graphics were decent and the music (score) was great. The gameplay, along with the fighting mechanics, is pretty fun and keeps you immersed, although much different from EA's addictive hack-n-slash combat system in 'The Two Towers'. But one must remember, EA's game was based on the movies while Vivendi Universal's title was directly based off Tolkien's stories. So no hack-n-slash, run straight through, fighting here. It's simply an action/adventure game with lots of roaming around the landscapes of Middle-earth, puzzle solving strategy to move forward, and (of coarse) there's combat (which is less redundant than in EA's Two Towers). While it most definitely could have been performed better for some characters in the game (looking at you Sam Gamgee), the voice acting is well done. Characters you play as are Frodo the hobbit, Aragorn the ranger, and Gandalf the wizard.I am very glad to still own 'The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring' for PS2 to this day, and would highly recommend any die hard Middle-earth fan who still owns a well running PS2 to buy a copy. It's a shame there was never a sequel.

Thank you for your service.
I'm sure game is great but I thought it would play on PlayStation 4. It isn't compatible unfortunately.

What more could you want!
This game is very well done, it stays true to the book, and it is challenging. It sadly isn't good graphic wise, and you won't always fight with the hole fellowship at once, but is still a great game.Warning: The ending to this might disappoint fans who have read the book and saw the movie.

Can't actually enjoy the game.
I received the game really quickly; however, the game freezes up due to a scratch, and it will not get past the first level. So much for that money saved.

Good game with great memories
This game is my childhood - though not as good as EA's The Two Towers and The Return of The King, it hold a special place being a TLOTR game. And even though I can admit the mechanics are poor and the graphics very dated I still re-bought it in 2016 to replay.
