This product came in and it weighs exactly what it should weigh so it could be used in competition. Very sturdy- while the gold has worn off (to be expected) there hasn’t been much chipping and flaking and has made it through several seasons of competition including a weigh in at Nationals.

Nice little shotput for my daughter to start learning with in the yard. I didn't weigh it, or measure the circumference. We're just using it in the yard the learn, and not for competition. The white really is an attractive color and an upgrade from the old rusty cannonballs I've used to heaving around.

I am very happy that there were so many weight choices. The one I got this time was a non-competition weight that I purchased for a class demonstration. It was good to get this weight and still be good quality.

Decent Shot. Paint chips off real easy when throwing in dirt but it has maintained shape and grip. If you’re looking to buy this because of the paint job, I’d recommend either coating it with something else or buying a different shot. If you’re looking to buy a shot to throw or practice with, this a good shot for the price.

Remember that this is a 'painted' iron ball....made to be thrown....and in doing so, it will not maintain that nice, shiny, perfect surface. It will get scuffed, scratched etc....unless you buy to just admire it (lol). This is serving it's purpose and was used a practice implement for my son's high school throwing this year. The 16lb definitely got him stronger and better with the 12lb he used for HS. He improves constantly and will be throwing in college next year.

Don’t be turned off by the paint chipping and wearing - if your child throws at meets in gravel, it will chip and depending on the humidity, their sweat, etc it is inevitable that it wears away. That’s fine, it’s not meant to look pretty, it’s meant to do it’s job which is what it does. You can get cleaner to rub the rust off if it does get rust. We live in a very humid climate so it does get rust easily and comes off easily. It’s worked great for practice and meets and we’re on the way to jr nationals next week. Don’t expect the shot to keep the paint, just expect the shot to do its job and you’ll be very satisfied.

Smooth and beautiful. Looks like a cue ball when new. It will slowly lose that after throws, but that comes with being a shot put. It seems to be the EXACT weight and not slightly over, but even after losing some paint it still solid and makes weight. Using this for college athletes (women) and they love the size (102mm) fits nicely in their palm. Would recommend and I will definitely be investing in more!
