Great alternative to a vest!
Was told by my toddlers ot to get a compression and/or weighted vest. I didn't think he needed the "weight". He is more of a "squeezes" kind of kid. He also doesn't like to wear clothes very often and I thought the bulk of a vest would make him not wear it. I found this and it is perfect for what I thought it would be! Think compression socks for diabetics or people with leg swelling/blood clots. Only in a tank top form. He LOVES it. Gives him "squeezes" just like he likes. It isn't too bulky and can be worn under his shirts. Was wondering during the summer in 90 degree weather and didn't make him hot or sweat so the material is breathable. Definitely measure your kiddo as the sizes start very small (thinking 1 year old?) And up. My small 2 year old fit the size I measured him for perfect. The neck fabric is a little bunchy, but probably to account for kiddos being shaped differently. It didn't bother him. His it is now recommending this product to kiddos in grade school that don't want to wear a vest in public. Do prepare for it being difficult to get on and off.... it's compression after all. But we encourage him that he'll get squeezes and he's gotten use to it! Great price for the quality and type of product. Beats buying a very expensive vest and running the risk of him not wearing it! More products like this need to be made.

8 y/o son loves it
My son loves everything about this shirt: no side seams, no tags, no collar, nice wide neck... it's a tube of fabric around the torso, the neck and arm cutouts are just cut and the edges finished with stretchy thread serging. The tops of the shoulders do have seams, but they are flatlocked, so the ends just overlap nice and flat, again, no leftover seam to irritate him. When it first arrived, the shoulder seams were a little bunchy, but I recognized the awesome flatlock seams, gave some firm tugs, and the fabric flattened right out. His chest measurement is 28 - 28.5 inches, and I bought the size large. The fabric is thick and soft enough that it gives a noticeable hug, which I think wouldn't be possible if the fabric were too flimsy. It does ride up a little at the bottom, so he does do a lot of tugging, but it's not enough to deter him from wearing it. He loves the hug feeling, but after a couple hours, sometimes wants to take it off and have a little break, but usually ends up putting it back on. I didn't buy it to help with his ADHD or for anything like that, he's just a sensory kiddo who likes the feeling of tight hugs. This shirt makes him happy, which makes me happy. I've already bought more for him. I couldn't have designed one better, this one checks every single box for us.

Good choice
My 5 year old has severe autism and this shirt was recommended and asked for purchase by his therapists who work with him daily. I am happy with the quality, price and fit although my son hates wearing it :) he forgets he’s wearing it after a couple of hours but it’s a struggle to get him in it and to keep him from taking it off until he adjusts. I would recommend this shirt because of the cut and texture, others I have purchased had sleeves and would cut into the armpit area and were basically just really tight uncomfortable tshirts. I would give 5 stars if my son loved putting it on but that doesn’t reflect the quality of this shirt. If your little ones have trouble be persistent.

Very expensive but it does seem to help.
We have a preemie with mild hypotonia and our PT recommended this shirt to help our little dude develop proprioception. He’s starting to walk and his confidence level went up very quickly once he started wearing this shirt. It’s not made of the greatest quality but I’m hoping it will last. I will purchase a second one to alternate for sure. Size chart is a little off. I first purchased the XS based on chest measurements but it was SO snug our skinny toddler complained and immediately wanted it off (he’s 16mo). I exchanged it for the size S, tried it on, he didn’t complain so I washed it (accidentally put it in the dryer (but at very low heat, luckily!) and it shrank a tiny bit but stretched back out - my bad - but it survived so yay!!) and he’s been wearing it since with no issues!! Our OT told us to start with 30min, 2X day. He’s a pretty calm dude overall but as with lots of toddlers, has his tantrum moments when he’s getting tired or hungry. We noticed that, as a bonus, he seemed calmer in high stress situations (bed time approaching/overtired, trip to the pediatrician) so it actually made me think of my dogs’ thundershirts! I wish I knew about this sooner, because it’s just a nice thing to have for inevitable stressful moments one will encounter at some point during toddlerhood.

Too Itchy and Scratchy For My Son
I ordered this for my son who has autism, ADHD, ODD, and tactile defensiveness. His sensory disorder has really increased at an alarming rate the past 2 years. It has become increasingly devastating to his education, his ability to pay attention, and his behavioral issues. I was so excited to try this shirt. At 15 my son is not willing to wear weighted compression vests or any other similar products that make him stand out as different even more than his autism. He even stopped using his weighted lap pad which really did help him. This I could put on him under his clothes. The product was described as being very soft. It is not. It felt a little scratchy to me. My son was a good sport and really tried to wear this. He had to have help removing it at school. He complained that it was just too itchy and scratchy. He really favors extremely soft materials. I washed it several times with a lot of fabric softener to try to make it more comfortable. It didn’t help. He hated wearing it; and, as a mother who has watched him struggle with so many things I simply could not force him to keep wearing it. When things like this are irritating they become more of a distraction that makes the situation it is designed to help much worse. I ordered this because of all of the great reviews. I’m sure it probably does help some children with sensory disorders; but, in our case it only made things worse. I felt it was important to leave this review for other parents to see that it does not work for every child. I didn’t want people to have the same experience that we did and feel like they were the only ones. Products designed to help children with sensory disorders are not cheap. There’s really no way to tell if it will work for your child until you try it. For us this was simply a waste of money for a family with only one income. I had to make the decision to become a stay at home mom in order to care for our son and get him to school, doctor appointments, and therapy sessions. I love being available to assist him with any needs that arise; but, it has definitely taken a toll on our family finances. I’m sure our family is not the only family affected in this way. So, if your family is like ours and your child is partial to extremely soft materials you may want to give this product a little extra consideration before buying. I would highly recommend only purchasing one at first to make sure your child will benefit from this product. With that said, I really do hope that this product will continue to be beneficial for as many kids as possible.

Quality Product But Returned - Please see review specifics
This is a review for: SmartKnitKIDS Compresso-T Deep Pressure Sensory Compression Undershirt I am unable to actually review this product fairly because it was returned, therefore, I gave 3 Stars for each product category. I gave 5 Stars for Packaging because the item arrived safely and timely. My 5 year old granddaughter has to wear a torso brace. She wears a shirt under it to prevent the brace from chafing and for her comfort. My son was trying to find a cooler alternative to the tops she wears in the winter. I’m always on the lookout for specific items she uses, so I ordered this shirt. I believe the item description was on point; however, until the actual article can be seen, it’s difficult to evaluate one specific area of importance, i.e., the material. In this instance, the material was too thick FOR MY GRANDDAUGHTER’S need. This is in no way a reflection on the article itself. My son said the top was well made, the sizing was accurate, and the material was soft and comfortable. However, when my granddaughter tried it on under her brace, it was too thick. Therefore, the item was returned without problems. (Thank you Amazon Prime for simplifying online purchases and returns.) This review was written by LynKin Note: My granddaughter is 37”. I’m not sure of her weight, probably 26-33 lbs.

Works great for my little one
My son is almost 3, autism level 2 and sensory processing disorder. He is 34 lbs and 40 inches tall, I ordered a small and it fits great. We were lucky enough to have an OT that tried on what she had so we knew what fit. He responded to this better than a weighted vest. It is SUPPOSED to be tight on them though. You just have to figure out what level of tightness they need. Sensory defensive kids probably wouldn't enjoy this as much as my sensory seeker does. We only put it on when he's doing things for sensory seeking purposes and it helps him a ton. I went from having a child I couldn't calm down without a meltdown to a child that can actually focus on tasks and take the world in. It's a huge difference.
