African Chai

BEST chai I have ever drank. Add a dab of honey and cream🤌No bitterness, perfect amount of spice yet smooth. Love it!

Nice strong, crisp flavor without adding anything. When I added some sweetened condensed milk, it was even tastier.

Although this may not be a traditional Chai flavor, the tea is actually super high quality and one of the best tasting I've ever had. I've bought a lot of different brands of tea on Amazon and this one is by far the best tasting. Compared to other teas I've bought, I can see the difference just in looking at the loose leaf, there is more spices mixed in (a lot of chai out there is 99% black tea with a couple of spice pods mixed in). I do think that you need a little bit higher water tempeture to extract the flavors here (but again I think that has to do with how many spices are mixed in) This is an absolute win of a purchase for me and I will repurchase for sure. P.S. the handmade spoon that comes with it is a great bonus!

I like the cannister this tea comes in. Solid metal and airtight for storage.. Freshness is so important.. It has a window top so that you can see in at a glance, as to how much tea is left.. The carved wooden measuring spoon is simple, functional and a wonderful bonus that extends the experiance. Full stop!!The taste of this tea is just simply wonderful.. With the raw aroma of exotic spices and that first sip that simply pleases and shifts my mood to accept the morning with warmth. Enticing. It is a multi layered experiance with spices that blend to suit a simple or sophisticated palate. It is not bitter or over done. The tea is black with a moderate caffeine level. This is one of my very favorite chai tea's now. My first experience with African Chai is a definite match made in Heaven. You receive 80 cups. It is plant based and gluten free. If you are undecided. I think its so worth a try. I made a cup for a friend. At first she said no thank you. Her experience with chai was unfortunate. But still I encouraged her to give it a try. Her first words, " Ohh this is so good!!" Sometimes one taste is worth 1000 words! With Christmas coming what a great gift for my friend.

My favorite of the JusTea teas. The flavor is great. I add honey to it for just a touch of sweetness. The quality of this tea is amazing. I use it in a tea/coffee maker and it works great.

This is a good tea but not a good chai tea. I knew I was in trouble when I opened the container and the aroma of spices didn't bowl me over. The traditional chai spices are in the tea, cloves, pepper, fennel and more but, the flavors are terribly mild. It tastes like a flavorful black tea instead of chai. I decided to try another cup by placing beforehand the loose tea into my bullet blender for a few seconds. As soon as I opened the blender, Wham! The essence of the spices wafted out in all of their chai glory. Regrettably, the flavor didn't change much despite refreshing the spices and using 2 full teaspoons per cup. I love the agenda of the companies' focus on Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance Certified, pesticide and chemical free tea. I'm actually sad this didn't live up to my expectations. The wooden spoon, on the plus side, is attractive and well made.

The aroma of JusTea's African Chai tea is so fresh and inviting. The taste is a touch floral, sweet and spicy. Delicious!

It's so nice to have a loose leaf chai tea. This is well received.

What I found with this type tea blend(s) is that due to the use of whole spices, it is not enough to just pour hot/boiling water over this type of blend and expect it to extract the whole flavor's. Here is what I found works best for me and it makes a delicious tea with just a couple of extra steps. (1) Measure out 2 cups (400-500ml) of water into a small saucepan with lid and bring to a near boil. (2) Add 1 tsp of the tea blend, give a quick stir, replace the lid and simmer-boil for approx 15-30 sec. (3) Turn off heat and let the tea steep (lid on-do not remove) for the recommended time 4-8 mins. (4) Pour through a strainer straight into your cup and enjoy. The tea takes on a lovely aroma and the colour is vibrant and tastes like a soft version of chai tea. Note: I do use the double amount of water using this method to basically avoid having to steep a second time for 2 cups - however, that is not saying that one cannot add 1 cup of water and redo the process again. Most whole herb tea blends require some type of extra simmer/boil method to fully extract the flavor, nutrients and colour of the tea. The reason for the 4 stars is due to the fact of the extra step needed to enjoy this tea that just pouring boiling water over the tea is just not enough. I hope you do continue to use and purchase these tea blends from this wonderful company.

Great flavorful tea from Kenya.

Very much love this tea. Only had to use 2 of my tea scoops, for most of my other tea brands I have to use 4 of my tea scoops. The taste is really nice. So this bag will last a long time. I love that! I always add stevia and a little cream to my teas. Will definitely order again!
