Blood for Ghosts

Great Texas Fiction
This is a wonderful book of short stories written by a very capable author, who is a long-time Dallas educator. Each story is written in a slightly different style with a completely changing cast of interesting characters. The "Ghosts" reference applies not to a horror motif but to our having to come to grips with societal and family events from the past that continue to haunt our present-day relationships and circumstances. In the introductory page, the author cites the famous Faulkner passage, "The past is never dead. It's not even past." A couple of the stories are a little dark, a couple funny, and all are interesting. Texas readers will recognize many of the physical settings. A definite recommendation for Christmas reading and gift-giving.
