You have to have the right remote to program and to program car

HUGE waste of your time if you buy these
These ACT like they're going to pair with your motor-head, even make the LED blink fast like it's all working fine - but the door won't move. THIS led me into hours and hours over the course of several weeks of calls back to the tech-support people for the door, trying to see what I was doing wrong. They finally told me that not all such openers sold online will work, something I didn't really believe. But as a last-ditch effort, I got another type and...you guessed it...it works.The other absurd thing about these is they have a "blanking plate" where there should be a three-hole jack to connect and pair with a second or third (etc) opener. Open them up, and...there's nothing there, either. So why these were being sold as a pair, I can only guess. No connector included, at least.I think they KNOW that these are crap, and they're selling them anyway, because not everyone will bother complaining or trying to get credit: when I messaged them about the problems I was having, they IMMEDIATELY offered to refund my money without my even having to return them. I wish I'd taken them up on that, but I thought they were honestly trying to help.

Easy to use/pair with the old one
Super easy to sync with an old remote. It works and I was shocked at how easy it was to get it paired. We needed a 3rd for a new drive in the house so I'm not sure how easy it'll be if you DO NOT have an old remote to pair it with, so take a look at the instructions for that part. If you have an old remote and are looking for a new one, get on with your day and buy this one. We would definitely buy another one if/when needed.

Sync Process Didn't Work
Remote did not sync up with my existing remote. The were compatible and the lights flashed like they said they would but it just didn't work with my garage door opener (?). Returning it. An additional note...ad says it will pair with the older ML-1312-24 remote and it did not work.
