It is the same chicken flavor packet they give you with their ramen. It tastes okay, but I would say it tastes like real chicken broth. I cooked it an extra two minutes and it came out perfect. Not crunchy.

Common complaint is that it's bland. It is bland. It's so perfectly plain you can use your own spices to make it into any flavor. It's a perfect easy to use instant rice that makes life so much easier for me. Alot of instant rices in the US have a plastic aftertaste to me due to the methods of heating. But this? This is a perfect rice & if you don't use the packet it's a perfect white rice. I hope this never goes off shelves importing from Asia is so expensive for instant rice & this is both affordable & useful without tasting awful.

But it's just instant rice with a ramen seasoning packet. Save your money and make your own. The rice doesn't absorb the seasoning packet well, so it just tastes like plain rice with a little chicken/salt. I definitely will not be buying this again. Not bad, just not worth the money/time. And yes, I added things to it but none of those things could mask that plain white rice taste. :(
