Very happy with this projector
I was going to buy something cheaper but I ended up paying about $700 extra and going with this because we do some gaming. I don't use the included Android TV dongle, so this review is not relevant on that front. This is installed in a dedicated movie room receiving a signal from an Dolby Atmos receiver. We have an Xbox, a Switch, and main TV is supplied by a Google Chromecast. Interestingly, the Chromecast supplies a 4k signal no matter what the native quality is, so it always runs in 4k unless we are on a game. We really love this projector, it is so bright, we run it on eco mode all the time, and it's still bright enough to watch with the limited lighting on in the room. The picture is crisp, and with the vertical adjustment, it is really easy to get installed without using Keystone which reduces performance. We have it mounted on the ceiling. It starts up very quickly, however, with the connection it needs to make to the Chromecast, it's not really much faster than our old bulb-type projector, in the long run. It's just usable at full brightness faster. What I'm saying is, it starts up fast, but takes the same amount of time to connect. It does occasionally lose signal, but I cannot confirm where the source of that issue is. It reconnects in 15-20 seconds. Happens every couple days or so, could be the long cables, could be a bad connection, I don't know. It's not a major issue, and hasn't happened while gaming, only movies, so it may be a 4k transmission issue. It's very quiet. It is large for a projector in my experience, the box is about twice as large as our former projector. As for the value, I think it was worth it, I'm glad I bought it. That being said, I don't know how the other one I would have bought would have compared. I wish there were a few more settings like our old projector, but we haven't really needed to adjust anything. Maybe it's not the most perfect real life accurate color, but it's bright and vivid and awesome for watching movies and shows. And it seems like it makes Rocket League more responsive, that may be the low latency, I don't know, I'm not an expert. Very happy with this purchase, would buy again.

Perfect for Gaming, Movies, and Family Time
We love this projector for gaming and movies! It provides a wonderful experience, whether we're playing Switch games like Super Smash Bros and enjoying fun family time, or my husband is immersed in Elden Ring on the PS5. He's especially impressed with how well it reveals dark details that he can't see on a monitor. The vibrant colors and lag-free performance make it a hit with everyone. We strongly recommend it to PS5 players. We also enjoy watching Netflix and Disney+ together. Setting up the Android TV dongle was super easy, just took 2-3 minutes. The lens adjustment is very easy to use, and the image quality is perfect. The built-in speaker is clear and loud, so we don't need any extra speakers. This is truly a perfect projector.

Incredible Picture
Is it expensive? Yes. Do I still get blown away by the picture every time I use it? Also yes. Obviously not for everyone, but this projector is incredible. Quiet, small, fairly easy to set up. We use it for PS5, Switch, Roku viewing and everyone that sees it is shocked. Incredible brightness while maintaining great black levels, zero jitter/artifacts/ghosting on fast moving sports or video games. If you can afford it, get it.

Video is fine but accessories are not
Picture is good and setup is not to bad, but connecting it to sonos through eARC has yet to work for me. The remote is almost a paper weight. I have to hit the buttons 3 or four time to get it to register. I put new batteries in and same deal. And I don't use android TV so stop asking me about it. Edit: I truly despise the remote control for this projector. It is absolute garbage. I have to press the buttont half a dozen times to get the projector to acknowledge the action.

It’s AMAZING!
The video should speak for itself. I’m using a cheap pull down projector screen, the projector is only 10ft away, and the room isn’t pitch black. It looks phenomenal. The colors, the brightness, the sharpness, the contrast - it’s as good as my $4000 Samsung QLED TV, and it could get even better with a higher quality projector screen. I haven’t tried gaming on it yet, but I’m confident it’ll hold up well. Only downside is that the remote control/Android TV is quite slow, but I’m going to hook up my Apple TV which should speed up content browsing. I recommend asking ChatGPT for help getting the right projector for your screen size and throw distance. This projector works perfectly for me, but may not for you. I’m going to sleep with these rain videos up every night.

Android tv doesn’t work
The android tv part of it stopped working after a year. Contacted support and it has not been resolved yet.

Measure twice - buy once. This projector has somewhat limited zoom options in the other direction - minimal screen size at 5 meter distance is already 140 in screen. This fits my case - but old BenQ lamp projector I had before was way more forgiving (100in to 160in) - this one (140in to 200+in). Otherwise - perfect fit. Very bright - and fan very quiet.

This projector is good for movies but not for gaming. It constantly switches from HDR to SDR when gaming on Xbox Series X and PS5. The screen is black for about 5 seconds while it switches every 5 to 10 minutes this happens. I contacted BenQ, and they recommended disabling HDR when gaming. The only way to update the firmware is to ship it back to BenQ. I am returning the X3100i to Amazon.
