Laser Sight System with Picatinny Mount for Mossberg 500/590/835/930/Shockwave Series Shotguns | Green Laser Sight

The Monstrum Laser Sight System is just as advertised and shown. The laser is well packaged and easy to install. The supplied mounting screws fit my Mossberg 590 perfectly and the green laser is bright, especially inside or in dim light. I will be using my 590 for home protection so this fit my need perfectly. I also like the rail system and mounted a pistol light on it since I will be firing it from the hip and not looking down the barrel to aim. The combination works fine and the light works great for inside of a home or around the yard. I highly recommend the Monstrum Laser Sight System...especially for a Mossberg 590 where it is intended to be fired from the hip.

Parasitic battery drain: I must be one of the unlucky ones. While I see several outstanding reviews, there area few 1 star reviews and I will be adding mine to that category. There is some type of occult parasitic battery drain that results in a dead battery when the gun is put in storage. Like others, the 1st time it happended, I thought it must be my fault? I must have left it on. So second time I was very careful to be certain it was off, after testing it, and yet it still drained in about 2-3 weeks. I then (yet again) put in new batteries, confirmed they worked, but then removed and reinstalled the batteries without testing them. They lasted for months and months and were working fine when I did actually need to take the weapon from the safe and use it. Once tested, however, they too failed (drained out) in 2-3 weeks. Seems the only soultion is to NOT test the batteries, or insert them - but that just means the weapon is NOT ready at a moments notice - which OBTW - is the reason one keeps a weapon.

Super easy to mount. Don't forget the blue Loctite! Use the supplied large Allen wrench to open the compartment on the front of the rail. The instructions show to open where the power switch is. Use some common sense! It also couldn't hurt to have extra batteries in stock. It uses two 1/3N batteries. The green laser is super bright in day or night. Zeroing in was a breeze. Picatinny rail is nice quality and not cheap plastic. Looks great. Feels great. Now I know this Shockwave is going to be spot on every time!

It works and fits well. All needed tools included and even batteries. Laser tag is bright and was easy to adjust. My only knock is I wish the laser was on the right instead of the left. With the left placement, the laser can easily be obstructed when your left hand is on the shotgun forend. When racking the slide of my .410, I must be aware of my left hand placement to avoid blocking the laser.

I’ve spent a good deal of time trying to open the battery compartment on this product. It is a flat faced round threaded insert with two small holes that you apparently need a special tool to open. I have tried making several tools to facilitate its opening but to no avail. The battery cover is so tightly embedded that it just bends the tool. I’m not new at this and find this to be a poorly designed part of this product. It should of had a knurled end to give you easy access to replace the batteries. I have been a model maker, watch maker, tool maker, car, motorcycle and locomotive mechanic my entire life and find this design unacceptable. The rest of the product is nicely made but without batteries it is useless.

Item was defective and I was told I could not get a replacement because I purchased it more than thirty days ago. Item was purchased September 16th and it is November 9th. I didn't want a refund all I wanted was an item that was not defective. Lesson learned ! Waste of money now for a item I cant even use. Light will come on but cuts off immediately. Just received a replacement item from the Manufacturer and they sent it in a timely manner. Great Customer Service!

I just mounted this Monstrum Lazer Rail and it was very easy I put the Mossberg 590 S 12 ga. in a vice after mounting the Rail I used the lower part of the Rail as a sight and just moved the Green dot just above the Bore I cant say ( See Photo ) enough for Monstrum this worked great I may never shoot this gun but I it is set close at 15Ft as you could ever want I would Buy Again Larry Adding took out the Original batterys replaced with batterys that said they would last 7 years ( CELEWELL ) thurned on lazer worked fine turned off 3 weeks later they are dead the only difference that i can see is the original batterys are coverd in plastic holding them togather I am going to do that and see if that makes a difference I will add later to this + Well a month has passed batteries are Dead Again no help from Manufacture
