BEKLA Rechargeable led Keyring Torch. Mini Keychain Light.

This keyring torch is roughly twice the price of the cheapo disposable ones you can get on auction sites etc.. However, compared to the cheapo ones (I've been through quite a few) this one is way, way brighter - really amazing, actually, for such a small torch. (N.b. it has 2 brightnesses, which is quite a good feature if you want to eek out the maximum battery life.)It also seems like it's going to be durable. The torch is metal and the keyring and chain seem decent quality (weighty).I have had it a few weeks, used it a little but have not noticed a need to recharge it yet. I guess that means the battery life is reasonable or better!The only quibble one can have with it, and I'm not bothered by it whatever, is that it weighs a bit more than the cheapo disposables (metal / decent battery)? And some of the cheapos are a bit smaller.However, I'm really pleased with it and would definitely recommend it!

I'm a bit of a techie when it comes to all things electrical, so when I came across this LED key ring torch I decided to purchase it. I've had several key ring torches before, but this one is different. It has a metal body for a start, which makes it much more sturdy...and also makes it look rather classy. Basically, it has a read solid feel, unlike the torches I've had in the past which have just basically snapped or broken. Secondly, and this is a big plus point for me, you can recharge the cell inside the torch (using a micro USB charger), rather than fiddle around trying to purchase batteries which aren't readily available! Thirdly, the performance is very very good with regards to the luminous output. The colour of the light output is white (~3k), and the key ring torch offers ample light for the size of the unit. I would definitely recommend this key ring torch, especially if you like to carry one around for everyday use. Finally, I note that BELKA also has another torch available, might order one of those too!

The first thing noticed is that the light (when it works) is very bright. Unfortunately doesn't work very often.Turns out the item I was delivered had two faults. Firstly, the switch sometimes clicked through as it is meant to (bright/med/off) and sometimes worked as a 'keep it pressed to make contact' switch, which is NOT what is meant to happen. Secondly, the LED had an intermittent contact and could be pushed/wiggled to get working for a few seconds, then would stop.The switch is a rubberised cover and should be splash resistant, but the recharge socket is open and has no protective cover and is totally not water resistant. The LED is also exposed (uncovered) and on a keyring may be easily knocked about.Could have been a great product but just misses the mark in almost every way.Edit - Congratulations to Dan who (I think) runs Bekla. He contacted us via Amazon and also sent us a most apologetic letter, including two replacement torches. Excellent seller feedback and shows that he reads the reviews and does care about how his product(s) are viewed.The two replacement torches both work on initial test and we will allow a period of time to test durability before updating.Again - top marks for customer relations. Even if the product breaks again, top seller effort.Update - Have used the replacement for 6 weeks now and it is working well. While I still have concerns about the splash resistance of the open recharge point, the case is sturdy and the light is bright. Replacements also do not have the switch or loose LED issues. Could well have just been the dud of the pack we got.

Initially, the Bekla was truly great: lightweight, and very bright....but it died after a couple months. The bright setting ended up as a strobe, and then the low setting went the same way.Credit to the supplier! He very quickly sorted me out with a replacement. Also truly great until exactly the same thing happened. After that I tried some cheapo 'RunY' versions of this torch, as well as the original Nightcore Tube, but there seems to be a flaw common to all where they all fail after a while. I didn't get them wet or dusty, but, having opened them up, I think it may be down to a lack of cushioning for the circuit board & battery. They sure get bumped around a lot on keys, so that might be their weakness.Honestly, despite the tiny size, the brightness, and the rechargeability, I'd steer clear lest you be left in the dark.

Edit: Stopped working after 3 weeks. Contacting customer services now.I bought this for my dad who has extremely limited night vision. He was delighted, the torch is small enough to comfortably fit in a pocket, really nice and bright and should be a good help for him getting about in low light conditions.Just an update: Dad is very happy with it, has it on a lanyard attached to his belt loops so he can get it out of his pocket easily. He was using it to follow me up the drive in the dark the other day.

I bought this because I work mainly night shifts and would prefer to see where I am going when I am at the carpark. I don’t need a big torch, just enough to see. This does the job. The light is bright enough and it has two levels of brightness. One push button is low brightness, second push of button is higher brightness. However, the button is depressed down. So pushing it is a bit tricky. You have to find the button as it is not embossed & push further down to get you torch to work. If you have short nails, you’ll have a bit of trouble, just a bit. I’m sure some people would think I am just being very picky but if I am in the dark, it is not great finding the button & pressing it down. Just my honest opinion. That’s why it’s only 4 stars for me. Actually generous with that too.
