Drunken Tomatoes- 2 Pack

delicious and better than the name might have led you to expect--think appetizer-size cherry tomatoes just barely cooked in a red-wine-vinegar-and-herbs salad dressing. Beautiful and flavorful little tomatoes in the dead of winter--cheerful

These are THE BEST! I added more onions to my jar only because the juice makes for perfect pickled onions! Really tart but I think it makes for a great snack.

Very tasty and tangy, with just the right amount of bite. I liked it a lot in salads, though some of my friends did not.

[Similar to a review I made on their "pickled" red onions and "angry" pickles. The first and third points are relevant as-is here too, only edited the second point.] 1. Extremely hard to open. To clarify, I'm not a small man, and I've never had problems opening jars/bottles, but this is INSANELY tight, to a degree that I suspect that someone set it so high as a prank. I even got some of those silicone jar-opening things and my wrist joints were aching for about 24 hours after that (I don't have any problems in my hands). I did three jars: I got one to open, a second opened after puncturing a hole in the lid, and with a third (on a different day because of the pain) I ended up puncturing the lid with a knife, sawing a bit to make a slit, then use a leatherman plier to force-roll the center of the lid over and out (see picture). 2. If you're expecting the kind of taste you get with home-made pickled tomatoes (the kind that is popular in russian stores in my area), then these are NOT it. It's faintly reminds me of the taste of those pickled tomatoes, except that they're much less pickled (yet marinated long enough for the tomatoes to be so soft that they fall apart if you're not careful to take one out), and for whatever reason, they are sweetened to a point where after half of a jar I couldn't stand it and threw the rest out. 3. All of this is in an offensively priced double-quantity. I'm guessing that this is about four times what I'd expect the price to be, and yes, I got suckered into thinking it's going to be really good as a result.

I wanted a food I could give visitors who imagine that the cuisine here is different and worth exploring and this answered the bill.

Yay!!!!! Love these! The flavor is awesome. They are not mushy at all. Has a great vinegar taste. Worth trying. Worth buying again and again.

I love pickled tomatoes but these were really smooshy. The flavor wasn't as good as I hoped for the price I paid. I don't mind paying a lot for good food but I don't think this was worth how much I paid.

They are delicious!
