what is the difference between yale standard and platinum maximum security?

you cannot snap them or pick them ike you can with a yale plain cylinder and you should get a card so only you can get keys cut for them

can someone make a copy without telling you if they have the key ? is it restricted or not ?

If you mean can someone physically copy the key (say at a key cutting store) the answer is "no", but with a qualification. When you buy the lock you get three keys and a card with a reference number and a bar code. This card will be needed to make any copy of the key and tells the specialist the key profile. Without this card it is impossible to cut one of these keys. It is possible to have a copy cut without the key if you have this card, so keep it very safe!
