These are by far the best floating shelves on the market. Trust me. I've looked. I order two other types from other companies I thought would live up to my standards and they did not. These are superbly built, impeccably finished, and have the best bracket I've come across - which is the real reason this shelf rises above the rest. Others use flimsy small and separated rod brackets. This is the only one I've come across with a single piece bracket, with alternating screw holes to improve anchor leverage.As I said - best floating shelves you will ever find which is why I gave it 5 stars. There is room for improvement though.1. The holes drilled in the back, where the supports slide in are not 100% aligned, so if you simply measure the bracket to be level, the shelf may be a few degrees off - so you need to mark the bracket heights with the shelf on the bracket simultaneously - this is not easy, and requires an extra set of hands.2. Make sure you get heavy duty drywall anchors. I bought the best I could find at Home Depot and was not disappointed. Initially, I had a contractor hang these and they used some cheap ones, and the shelves sagged. The shelves are cheap enough, so don't cheap out on the anchors. As with any floating shelf, there will be some sag - but these by far have the most minimal, and it isn't noticeable - as long as your anchors are solid!3. The bracket is as good as they come - but its missing one key thing - The screw holes are flat, and not countersunk to allow for flush countersunk screws - so they stick out a bit. Thankfully the shelves are already built with a space for the bracket to slide in flush, so not a huge deal. This is really just a manufacturing tip for the future - nothing you can do as an installer.Overall - note you can buy these without worry.

I am super happy with how these shelves turned out! I moved a cabinet and replaced it with these floating shelves and love how it completely changed the look of my kitchen. Each shelve is very unique and has lots of wood grain character. When I installed the shelves I used two toggle bolts on the both ends of the metal mounting piece (I have plaster walls) and it worked out great.I originally ordered a 2 pack from Amazon, then reached out to the company via their website about ordering one more and they were quick to reply. I have plaster walls in my house, so I would have liked the option to pick the hardware before finalizing my order – that's my reasoning for giving a 4-star instead of 5-star review.

I am thrilled with the quality construction, design, and reasonable price for this pair of solid wood shelves. With the brackets installed per the instructions, the shelves were level, very sturdy and positioned exactly where I wanted them.My only suggestion is to mark the top of the shelves. As written in the instructions, the metal brackets have a top/bottom. I installed the brackets, one directly above the other. When I installed the shelves onto the brackets, one was about ½” right of the other. I verified the correct placement of the brackets on the wall. I found the location of the mounting holes are identical for both shelves and properly spaced for the brackets, but are slightly off center. Notice the hole placement in the photo. I had installed one of the shelves upside down. I flipped it over and both shelves fit flush against the wall and were properly positioned. Perfect!I plan to purchase more of these great shelves!

There are two kinds of shelves out there that people purchase. First one is decorative, the second is functional. Dakoda love is both! Some other floating shelves are a joke. Super cheap hollow material, with awful hardware. However there's a place for them if you only intend on placing decorative items like small picture frames or shot glasses. Dakoda love uses beautiful actual stained solid wood and welded brackets steel brackets and robust drywall anchors that are rated at 75lbs/anchor (you'll use 4 anchors for each shelf...you can do the math)I probably wouldn't have spent as much as I did on these shelves if I were just putting up pictures or decorative pieces. but these shelves went into my bathroom that I'm actually using everyday. I also just remodeled my bathroom so I wanted something nicer and more robust that can stand everyday use. The rear of shelf is drilled and countersunk so the shelf is dead flush. They even put a little piece of double sided tape on the bracket so when you first go to place the shelf where you want it the brackets will temporary stick to the wall so you can mark the holes or just drill the pilot holes.I will be buying from dakoda love again if I ever need floating shelves

We wanted real wood floating shelves in our family/living room to complement our other furniture, and the more readily available white/black types would just not work.These arrived promptly, well packaged, and exactly as ordered. The wood stain was exactly as pictured, the stain on all shelves matched, and the shelves dimensions as ordered. The shelves are beautifully smooth. The hardware was sturdy enough to support the weight of the shelves (they are fairly heavy, and we didn't want falling shelves!) We did use a different anchor that we had on hand when sinking directly into studs- just a personal preference. The directions were easy to follow.The 8 inch width is perfect for displaying objects or midsize books.We do wish other (longer) lengths were available; we wanted a 6 foot span in one area. We were able to sink a peg into the end of two shelves (so nice to have real wood to work with!) and mated the two end-to-end perfectly. A little technical, but the end result is worth it.These shelves are exactly what we were looking for- real wood, pretty wood grain, finished to complement our furnishings- excellent. Highly recommended!
