I think it is notable to mention that My package first arrived with 1/4 spilled in the bag. The pump was twisted open. I was going to return it but I just did not have time for the Whole Foods run and buying another one, so I decided to just make it work with what was left. I am really glad I did because it worked incredible and very even. The mishap could’ve been the mail man, somebody in the warehouse, somebody doing the sorting, who knows? I’m not angry about it, and it arrived to me without me having to leave the house. It doesn’t affect my opinion of the product. This was so easy to do a good job, seriously foolproof. I’ve been using the aerosol can mist for a bit and I am kicking myself for not being wise enough to try this method much sooner. The clear gel was really stink free. No weird odors, nothing wiping off on my clothes, just a gradual and natural looking color that developed throughout the day. I recommend exfoliating first 100%. I think that played very large part and how even this came out on me. No streaks or weird spots other than my feet which were completely my fault. i actually think that there are instructions for what to do around the feet but I ignored them and regret that. This product gave me the ultimate confidence boost this week, and to be honest I needed that! Let’s be real. We all feel much better when we’ve gotten some sun, or at least look like we have. I highly recommend this product to all of my fellow pale friends.

Love this stuff! My skin feels so hydrated when I use the gel. Very natural tan that lasts about 3-4 days and fades naturally with no streaking. I don’t find the eraser necessary for a good tan or getting rid of it, but I really do love using it when I need a good exfoliating. It’s about like a salt scrub. The glove is a must. 10/10

I really like this self-tanning gel! The color develops quickly and looks very natural on my skin, not orange at all. The mitt makes it easy to apply evenly, and I love that it works on both face and body. It also dries fast, so I don’t feel sticky after using it. The best part is that it doesn’t transfer to my clothes or sheets, which was always a problem with other tanning products I tried before. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I noticed a little bit of patchiness on my knees and elbows the first time. After exfoliating better before the second application, it looked much smoother, so I think that was on me. Overall, it’s a really good product if you want a deep, natural tan without the strong smell that most self-tanners have.

Pretty blown away with this self tanner!! I have typically used a lotion or mousse type but the gel really won me over. Super easy to apply evenly and the mitt is really great quality too. Compared to the other self tanners out there, this is so cheap for the quality. The directions say you don’t need to wash it off, which i was very hesitant to believe, but I needed it in a pinch so I wore it while getting ready for a wedding. I was shocked when i saw it settle in quickly and evenly! My elbows looked a little rough but that was more my fault for rushing. Definitely recommend and want to try the shimmer formula!!

Hi! I purchased this product to get a quick, noticeable tan and to avoid long hours of needless sun or UV rays exposure and the expense of tanning sessions. This was my FIRST experience with a self-tanning product of any kind (e.g., lotions, gels, mousses, serums, etc.). Overall, the glow this tanning gel gives you is AMAZING. As a clear gel, you probably wouldn't anticipate the results this self-tanner provides. Ultimately, the product will bronze your skin, but it will also leave a faint orangey undertone. Importantly, both a downside and an upside of this product IS that the gel is clear. So, although it is transfer-resistant, there is no guide to show where you have and have not applied the product. Below are longer explanations related to the product's moisturization, scent, and use. When first applied, the product's scent is coconut-like and pleasant. However, an hour after the application, the dried gel smelled odd. Unfortunately, the smell does not disappear. Instead, it clings to you. I could smell it on my skin and asked a friend whether or not they could detect the odor. Admittedly, my friend pressed their nose almost directly against my skin, but they could also smell it. Although scents rarely bother me, eventually, the product began to smell undeniably unpleasant. At last, I showered and scrubbed myself twice, but the smell lingers. If you are sensitive to smells or odors, reconsider purchasing and using this product. Fortunately, the product did not irritate my skin. Although the product claims to "give you the juiciest, moisturized glow," I did not find it moisturizing. But the gel did NOT dry out my skin either. Admittedly, I did not purchase this product for its supposed moisturizing benefits. Ultimately, its lack of moisturization does not upset me. Indeed, other customers might have thought it to be moisturizing. Overall, there are several points I want to address. First, I want to emphasize the "rinse-free" label. The product states that it is a "rinse-free" tan gel, and IT IS. However, I experienced some confusion during my first application. I purchased a bundle that included the tanning gel and an application mitt. The two items arrived together in a plastic package that directs you to rinse off the gel after setting it for several hours. During my first application, I only applied the gel to my legs. Eventually, I rinsed off (i.e., without using soap) and dried off with a towel. I discovered large, discolored smears where I had wiped the gel off my legs. Although the gel was dry, it did not react well after rinsing. Overall, IF you purchase the tanning gel and mitt bundle, please DO NOT RINSE ALTHOUGH THE BUNDLE BAG INSTRUCTS YOU. The Glow Your Own Way bottle states that it is rinse-free. After my second application on my upper body, I wore the gel for twenty-four hours before showering. So, how did the tan react to a complete shower (i.e., with soap)? It reacted well! My skin has a moderate bronze tone. Several of the uneven dark patches disappeared. Ultimately, I cannot guarantee the longevity of this tan. But I predict it will last three to four more showers. The second point I want to address is the non-transfer guarantee. I found the "transfer-resistant" claim to be TRUE. Since the gel is clear, immediate transfers will not happen. However, I recommend waiting about thirty minutes until the gel absorbs before lying or sitting on furniture. I did not test that hypothesis; it is merely precautionary advice. My clothes did not stain. However, I did rest my forearms against my thighs several times, and the gel did transfer to my skin while it was tacky. The last point I want to mention is the method of application. Although the bottle encourages you to, I did not use my bare hands to apply the product. (Considering how it stained my skin in several spots, I do NOT suggest using your bare hands). Instead, during the first application, I used a rubber glove. If you use a rubber glove, you will not waste as much product since the gel does not absorb into the mitt. However, you will NOT need to dispense as much product onto your rubber glove. If you use a tanning mitt, you will use more product as it absorbs into the fabric. However, as a first-time self-tanner, I found the application easier with a mitt than a rubber glove. I believe I applied the gel more evenly with the mitt. Therefore, I recommend using an applicator mitt with this product.

Best self tanner hands down, no smell, great color, rubs in well, no streaks

I've used countless self tanners over the years ..expensive and not so expensive and this is by far the absolute BEST one I've used! It does have a slight smell but nothing very powerful or long lasting. Not really sticky either but I also just sort of let it air dry on my skin for a few minutes before sitting or dressing etc. It says no transfer of color but I play it safe and let it dry anyway. I used the mitt to apply and that made it very easy. It is a clear gel so making sure to rub it in evenly is key and this gel is super easy to do that with and the best part ? Zero orange color! I'm a medium fair individual and this gave me a beautiful natural looking glow that could be deepened with more layers of application. It last several days before I exfoliate and reapply. .even in water ! Was at a recent swim party in a salt water pool and spent hours either partially or fully submerged and at the end of the day I was the same golden glow as earlier in the day. Highly recommend this

This product works pretty well until the first wash in my experience. I'm very pale and wanted just a little color for the summer so I gave this several tries over the last few months. Here's what I found. Pros: •Very easy to apply (highly recommend the mitt) •Dries fast and isn't as uncomfortable to apply as lotion •The color did look very nice on my pale skin and gave me a huge confidence boost (except for the face, I had to buy the shade lighter to not look orange but that worked perfect.) •Will be pretty even the first day/two •The bottle/pump is nice (and just looks cute) and will last several tanning sessions. Cons: •I could never get it to look right on my hands/feet. I tried several times w/ and w/o moisturizers. It got very dark around the edges of my feet and between toes even with exfoliation. •The tan seems to wash off the shins really quick and it's almost like it slides down and makes my ankles darker instead? •It does START off smelling really nice but it quickly turns into a weird smell once mixed with body chemistry. Not terrible except for maybe in armpits/where you sweat. I stopped doing armpits to avoid that smell. Small complaints: •I really wish it lasted a little longer but it only lasted a couple days on a beach vacation when I needed it most. •The mitt they included was kind of cheap and got a small tear somewhere in the lining almost immediately and now it gets wet inside too which isn't ideal. Overall it is easy to use and my preferred way to get a little color right now, but with the imperfections and short tan life I don't bother with using it except for on rare occasions now.
