Amazon Basics Cross Cut Paper and Credit Card Shredder, 12 Sheet (New Model), Black

I purchased the shredder for my home office. It’s an update of my previous one that is over 10 yrs Old. I like the new features and the size of it. The cross cut is an excellent feature. The price was Right also. The reviews helped me to make a decision. Thanks Amazon viewers. I took my old one to Staples to be recycled. It was very dependable and it served its purpose perfectly. But I Love the new one as well.

Just as I’m sure most everyone does I tend to keep paperwork I think we may need later, however I also have a tendency to place said paperwork into drawers and or other places that magically turns them into the unseen forgotten about items (I call it the place it and forget it’s there place) then before you know it you have a huge pile of outdated forgotten about paperwork that has important personal information on them that you can’t just toss into the trash hence my reason for getting this shredder to begin with. What I didn’t expect but what was so pleasant surprised with is the fact that shredder claims to also be capable of shredding credit and or debit cards which I absolutely had to see if the product claims were true so of course I had to put it to the test which of course I did! I actually had so much fun in doing so I might add because not only did this shredder shred everything I put into its shredder it also made quick easy work of doing so. I am a stay at home wife so I really like to make different kinds of crafting projects and things like that so I wondered if this shredder could (and did) handle shredding paper and cards with no issues then I can always use it to shred cardboard as well as paper and other items that won’t be too thick or tough for different crafting projects and so essentially I got it with one purpose in mind but now I have it I have several different uses in mind for this product and it took was a bit of thinking a bit outside of the “norm”.

My husband is a privacy nut and wanted an in home shredder. I didn't think this one would be as substantial and easy to use as it is. We have been using it for a couple of months and it is getting a lot of use and still works perfectly. I would recommend.

Great shredder. Looks and works as described. The only issue that I had as soon as I took the plastic off (when taken out of box) was that I’m guessing it’s lubricating oil that had spilt on the side making a sticky mess that stuck to my skin. It refused to come off with rubbing alcohol or soap. I figured let me try petroleum jelly but the only thing I had was Vicks vaporub. LOL! Rubbing it on my skin and wiping it off worked! I actually had to use a bit of Vicks on the area where it was on the shredder, work it in and wipe it off with tissue to get it clean. It’s best not to let the papers build up, but to do it slowly on a daily basis. I put a small disposable shopping bag on the inside to keep the bin clean and easy to dispose of. After running it on automatic, I turn it on so the blades run for about 15 seconds to get any paper in between the blades to be spit out into the bin. Yes, it is slightly noisy, but it gets the job done

I love that Amazon has basics like this crosscut shredder which I use as a back up to my regular paper shredder. I use it for sensitive papers because in this day and age one can’t be too careful. This shredder works great on all kinds of mail, is quite and makes very little dust when I empty the bin. So glad Amazon offers basic appliances like this handy shredder!

I work remote and to shred client notes. But I also wanted something for my banking statements and expired credit cards. The sample photo are of one credit card. The full pile of shreds was much larger. Quiet and efficient. And powers with a power cord. Has options for Auto, Forward, Reverse, and Off. Didn't overheat shredding 2 credit cards. I also bought this in white but then realized my home office had more black so I swapped out for the black one. The white was an easy return.

Right size for home/office. Affordable. Works just fine.

I gave this 5 stars because I generally like what Amazon promotes. Unfortunately, it didn't work and was returned. Having said that, I'm sure I just got a flawed machine.

This is a great shredder. We are very happy with it. The first use was 90 minutes and it worked like a champ.

Tritura perfectamente, no hace mucho ruido, se llena muy pronto el contenedor pero sin problema lo vas vaciando para que no se sature hasta las cuchillas. Apenas lleva un día de uso, espero que dure mucho tiempo con un buen cuidado.

The media could not be loaded. Usually shredders do not live up-to their specifications- let alone exceeding them.But this one is an exception.It doesn’t just live up to the specification, it goes beyond that. I shredded 24 papers and this shredder did that comfortably (they were not cheap thin papers. They were good quality papers.)Now, I wanted to see the point at which the machine gives up. I tried 30 pages. Machine chewed may be 10-15% and jammed. In stead of sitting there with jammed feed, machine did auto reverse and helped me pull the bunch. I then tried with 28 pages but about 15% into shredding it jammed. I tried 26 pages. Machine was able to shred 26 pages.I have shredded thick cardboards and had no issues with jamming. Machine just chews and chews happily. I absolutely love this shredder!!Kudos to Amazon for making such a high quality product available.Now- coming to non shredding aspects*Noise*acceptable. It is actually lower than my insignia 6 sheet shredder.*Build quality*good . The slider button on top feels lil bit inaccurate and flimsy but it is not a deal breaker for me. Bin doesn’t go in effortlessly. 8 out of 10 times, I have to wiggle the bin a bit for it to go in. Castors are smooth.*Shred quality*Consistent. Shred size is about 3-3.5 cm x 4 mm (1.25 inches x 0.16 inches) which meets or exceeds its specification.Overall- an awesome shredder any household should have especially with cardboard usage.
