Yale Wire Free Alarm Kit

Excellent product ... After searching the internet for a few weeks I found this Burglar Alarm and couldn't be more chuffed.Nice packaging and extremely good quality.This alarm is easy to set up (I recommend putting up the PIR's, Door sensors and alarm box up first then setting up the system) and works extremely well.Definitely worth purchasing for any home user as add ons can easily be added to the system at the later date.I would recommend this Burglar alarm to anyone and have already got a few friends and family to invest in one of these as well.P.S Might seem a bit cheesy but definitely watch the DVD! Some really handy tips on there!

I bought this alarm because I have had Yale systems in the past and they are a good brand and simple to install.The price here was very reasonable compared to hardware stores I have bought from before.within 30 minutes it was installed and operational ( with additional components added - extra sensors etc for larger properties is easy to add)The delivery was fast and the product was perfect, The packing box was a little damaged and the plastic case it came in was smashed but the product itself was intact.I have no complaints about this purchase and I would both recommend and buy from this seller again, very pleased.

Overall a pretty easy install - instructions were a tad confusing and I had to use You Tube to understand some points (the trouble is the hand held controller/key fob are meant for multiple countries including the UK so a padlock is the universal symbol for "alarm" and an open padlock is "disable" - hum, takes time to work it out) - less the drop in Stars.Points to note - when they say 10mm gap in the door connects, don't think 15mm will work - again, test before you screw in. The PIRs also seem to have a slightly narrow field of effect and certainly seem to project their field outwards rather than downwards - again check before you screw into place. I placed mine above a door and couldn't understand why they wouldn't work. Also I just couldn't get the PIRs to work - until I finally pushed a button to "learn" and they seemed to drop in - certainly this was the most confusing bit.OK, thats the slight negatives...positives, 90 minutes to set up. This system is purely battery operated, so no mains. There is no facility (with this model), to dial a phone, it's purely a bell/siren. So you need to think whether this is useful. I've got it set up in an outbuilding so the only deterrent is the sound of a very loud bell going off - hopefully this will scare off intruders; useful to a point in a built up area, in the middle of the countryside (tack room in a field, with no one about) it will have limited use.In my opinion, this is a deterrent, useful to a degree and fairly easy to set up. Interestingly I had a power cut a day after I set the alarm up and obviously this had no impact on this alarm system as it's purely battery (2 year replacement cycle).Would I buy again, yep - under the right circumstances; i.e. Knowing the limitations and knowing it's only a loud noise to deter.

Easy to install and set up and seems to work well.I installed this in a friends house, who has two cats. The instructions are straight forward and everything comes complete with batteries, so no last minute dash to the shops.Two months later, she has had no spurious alarms, despite using it each day and night. As with all alarms, the visual alarm box is often as much as a deterrent as the rest of the system, so we also bought a second 'dummy' box for the rear of the house.

I found this alarm very easy to fit using the instructions and DVD, all placed on a table as advised. I give it one stars as my daughter who is three set the alarm off using a panic button, we were in the front room approx 5 metres from the siren, our house is double glazed and it took us a few minutes to realise the siren was going off!When I refitted patio doors at the back of my home the tamper switch activated the alarm, again I could not hear the siren, other people have commented about this, it just isn't loud enough, (it would make a good alarm clock next to your bed though), any would be burglar would simply carry on with their 'job'.I thought "I will add another siren, inside the house!" brilliant idea. YOU CAN'T ADD OTHER SIRENS WITH THIS MODEL...It has got me to the point of thinking of spending more money and getting an effective alarm that will actually deter intruders!!!

The kit seems well made, but I had trouble "learning in" the keypad to the siren box. The result was that I could not operate the alarm system. The installation instructions were followed to the letter. I suspect that one of the components is faulty.For anyone thinking of buying this kit the installation procedure is straightforward, and adding other components at a later date should be easy. It simply did not work for me.10 out of 10 for Daniela at Homewith Bargains who gave a no - quibble refund and even paid the cost of return postage.

I chose this because it has a good rating by previous buyers, and the alarm is a bold yellow and very obvious to a potential intruder. It is easy to install and any queries you may have are covered by the instructional DVD which is well structured to provide guidance.Also, I've fitted some add ons, which again was easy and now I have a comprehensive system to protect the property.I'm a fan and would recommend this product to anyone who doesn't want to follow a hard wired route

Easy to install - though it's difficult to know that the various bits have linked to each other. Bought this for a new garden office. The bell box looks good though it has no light to warn of its presence at night time - given that the draw of a single LED would be low, you would think this would be an essential. Biggest problem is that I can set the alarm and after allowing some time for it to settle, can unlock the office, walk around, do star-jumps on my desk, load all my valuables into the back of a waiting transit without so much as a peep.... pretty useless.
