PURE DISTILLED INFORMATION HERE!
First of all, I would like to thank the Author for producing such distilled high quality content.I applaud you for the simplicity, thank you!Warning:This could be a rather lengthy review. If you don't feel like reading a long review, go ahead and purchase the book. Check out the images I uploaded for your viewing pleasure Or download the Kindle Free Sample. Now, you might be wondering why I gave this great book only 4 stars and not 5, well... lets be honest, a 5 star review is reserved for "Perfect" books... this book is not perfect, there are a few typos. But do not let that discourage you from buying the book, the content is pretty solid. Even books from companies with very good reputation still have typos. With that being said, if you are new to learning python, LET THIS BE NOT THE LAST PYTHON BOOK YOU BUY, BUT DO LET IT BE THE FIRST!Ok, so I am new to learning python, and this is the 3rd book I bought to learn Python programming.why the the 3rd, you ask? well, the first one, was Python for kids, so I thought it would simple... it was not! That book had me running all over the place! "add this, then go back and add that, etc. etc."Then, I bought my second book to learn python... and when I was about a third of the way into the book, I started working some pretty long hours at my job for a few months and that drained me of my energy. So, while I was working those long hours I could not practice python, so during my lunch breaks I started to look for other Python programming books, because the one I was 'currently' reading at that time, had me running all over the place as well, don't get me wrong, it was still a great book and I plan to go back to it ONCE I FINISH THIS BOOK.I downloaded several kindle samples, UNTIL I found this "Python Programming for Students" book.I downloaded the kindle free sample and by the time I finished reading the 'frample' (free sample), I was hooked! I immediately went ahead and purchased the full kindle version. Now, normally I used to, 'hint-hint,' used to think that purchasing real books was the only way to learn anything, not so.Now days with the technology we have, we should take advantage of every learning medium we can possibly get our hands on. This is what I have been doing, I purchase the kindle version of this book, then, I went ahead and downloaded the Kindle app for desktop, I have two monitors plugged into my computer, I open the kindle version of this book on one monitor and I open Visual Studio Code on the other so that I can practice typing the code as I read, (DO NOT COPY PASTE THE CODE!) you will be cheating yourself, something about muscle memory and all that. Remember how you learned your A,B,Cs? by writing and tracing them? Yup. You've got to put in the hard work and type every single line of code if you want to reap the benefits. On a slightly different note, I do plan to purchase the physical book simply because there are a few charts with python code words and symbols included in the book, that I just find it easier to memorize from paper than the kindle app.Note to Author:PLEASE, PLEASE read your book once again and fix the typos, I'll give you the location of two and you can read the book and find the others, (look under figure. 2.12: Output and I believe you left out one variable, please review.) I am only on chapter 2. So yeah, got a long way to go still. Its taking me long to get through your book, because I am trying to really learn the information from your chapters before moving on. Your content is very solid so its very easy for me to make FLASH CARDS. Tip: If you like, create a book with flash cards, they don't have to be actual cards, but you know in a book format, word in the front, definition on back of page.If you correct the typos I promise I will bump my review to 5 stars! And if you price your book of flash cards about the same price of book, I will buy that as well!
