This tape performance is head-and-shoulders above duct tape.There is definitely a use for duct tape, but we all know what happens to duct tape over time. I installed water pipe wrap and duct insulation several years ago. I used duct tape for the pipe wrap and UL181b tape for the duct insulation. (This roll of UL181b tape is for the last bit of duct insulation.) I found many of the duct tape pieces had failed, but the UL181b tape were exactly as I had left them more than 5 years ago.If you want your tape application to last, use UL181b.

This is the best duct tape I've ever used. Other types wear out and come loose over time, especially in the attic. This tape sticks really well, and it stays stuck and holding strong year after year. ( I have ducts in my attic I taped 5 years ago )

This tape works amazingly well for A/C ducts, but also for a lot of other things. Its very strong, yet light and thin, and molds well to surfaces to fully seal. Downside? The ungodly racket it makes when pulling off a piece. Like, you might want some ear protection it's so loud. Sticks great, though!

Thinner than expected, but strong if no rips. Very sticky.

Have used it on multiple items from interior of a car to plastic molding. Easy to tear of a piece if you do not have scissors. It does not fade or flake off as time and tempter wear on the product.
