Quick repair, nice
I have a deck stair made of one 12 x 3 piece of cedar (about 30 years old) that was rotting out from the inside on one end due to rain exposure. I mixed up half the solution and poured it into the top crack and blocked up the end with some stapled on cardboard. After about 20 minutes some of it really steamed (exothermic reaction) and set hard after 6 hours or so. Went back and drilled 1/4 inch holes into the areas that were soft under the hard upper original wood where the first batch didn't reach and filled in those with a syringe. That also steamed a bit after 20 minutes (probably a bit of moisture still inside the wood) but it set up hard. I then sanded the whole stair's upper surface since the material ran over the surface like a polyurethane. Cleaned it up really well. Now the stair is hard and does not give if you press on it. Excellent material for applications were it does not run out due to the viscosity being quite low. I have other applications where a 2 part clay type epoxy will be necessary, but this worked for my stair. Thanks!!!

epoxy
worked well, set up time fast but not too fast to work with. Not terribly smelly. Bought it twice

Much thinner than I thought it would be.
Reading the instructions, it says to use Acetone, or Denatured Alcohol to increase penetration, so I made the assumption that it would be a relatively thick epoxy.... This stuff is thin enough that in some of the worst areas, it penetrated all the way through the wood and dripped onto the ground. None of the lumber I was treating was bad all the way through, most of it was only 1/2 to 3/4" deep at the bad parts, and about 1 1/2" to 2" deep on the worst parts. The house was built in 1938 using local materials, the beams I'm repairing were sight cut 3 x 5 beams used as floor joists located in what was originally a laundry room that had flooded at least a couple times. It also had termite damage after the wood started to rot. It's now a bathroom, and I'm laying new floor down and will be tiling over it. This epoxy seems to be perfect for my usage, I just need the larger kit to finish the job.

Good product that strengthens & seals up rotten wood.
When you need it you need it. Works as it should and does a good job but can only handle a smaller area than I needed. Seems like all these kinds of products have gotten very expensive and now come in smaller quantities. It works well and set up nicely, but I had to buy a sheet of plywood to keep the costs down. I would recommend it for tight space and small area of rot. Recommend, just measure the coverage you need to ensure you will have enough.

So Far, So Good
We have a large south-facing, 20 year old cedar plank deck which gets not only a lot of use, but is exposed to year round weather here in the upper Northeast. Inevitably, when touching up / refinishing this summer, we found a very small amount of wood rot in two places; around one end board in a joint and the planks abutting a fir post. Before replacing the 10' boards - which were 95+% solid and without rot, I researched several products and decided on the RTG system. So I cannot, of course, comment on the durability but I can say that the system is well explained, the product easily mixed, and due to the less viscous nature, easily penetrated the rotted portions of the affected cedar. I first cleaned the area to be treated very well removing the more obvious loose rot and wood dust, allowed it to dry thoroughly, drilled several small holes and applied the mixture. It cured overnight but I allowed three days before painting. Seems to be no issue whatsoever with paint adherence. So at this point, I am very happy with this system and it saved the time and money of replacing a 10" section of a cedar board due to rot exposing maybe 1% of the end grain. Now, I wait for winter to see how it holds up. Would purchase again if needed.

This works good! You may need more than one application for real bad wood
I have very porous dusty rotted wood on my porch. I thinned this with acetone about 30% - water thin. IT soaked in great and was reasonably solid in ~ 4hrs. As the label says it was real hard in ~ 4 days. It soaks in good! Needed one or 2 more applications as it does run through very porous wood as you would expect. Wood is very hard now fingernals and screwdrivers will not dent anymore. I can now fill in the big gouges with thick epoxy and finish painting. It will puddle on good wood since it cant sink into the grain. Puddles feel lake hard plastic and can be sanded off.

Wondering
Maybe as a non skilled wood person, maybe I did something wrong. After having gotten a magnifying glass to read the tiny instructions on the bottles, I mixed it 2/1 as it said, and stirred it for the required two minutes and it was a runny liquid that I brushed on. Somehow I thought this would somehow build up the broken places, but after trying to saturate the cracked places, it became a wet very sticky bench. Thinking I was done with the solution, I picked up the bowl I’d mixed it in and the bowl was uncomfortably hot! Then it stared to smoke! Before long it started to harden into a large glop. I quickly sat the bowl down in the grass. Please tell me if I did anything wrong and is this the usual outcome of RTG resin and hardener? This was a somewhat expensive purchase and after the four day curing time, am I going to be pleasantly surprised?

Great product BUT…
I bought this product for a project and used as directed and it works great. HOWEVER it doesn’t keep its curing properties very long after opened. Used the product and had some left for a little later in the project 4 weeks later mixed up the final batch checked the next morning still wet and gooey. Gave more time no luck. Still sticky five days later….. I’ll manage but it slowed the project considerably… Only purchase what you need to be used immediately this product has a very short shelf life after opening.

Product works as described
Product is very hard to mix the right amount. This is not the fault of the product, but hard to estimate size of rot in the sill without ripping it completely out. DO NOT use if weather is to warm! Product bubbles if in direct sun. Took 3 coats to fully fill void. Definitely not for use where a clear, wood finish is required.

Took a long time to receive
Product seems good, but seller not so good. Took longer than advertised to arrive. Took seller 5 days alone to ever create a shipping label, then shipping turned into 3 days longer than the original label implied.
