The Colt .45 automatic: A shop manual

I wanted a bit more information in regards to caring for my Colt 45acp. Probably way more Info than I needed but a great find none the less. Great pics and technical drawings! Also contains info on the various sights available as well as mods that can be carried out by a professional gunsmith. If you are into the 1911 model 45.... this is for you!

As advertised good book

This book, by far, is the best shop manual that I have ever used. Everyone and anyone who owns a Colt .45 should have this manual whether you want to work on your own gun or not. The first part of the book discusses a step by step disassembly and reassembly of the gun that anyone can understand and follow. The photos are superb. It includes info for early models all the way through the series 70, 80, Commanders and Gold Cups. The last half of the book covers every and any type of modification and general gun smithing work that you can perform on this gun. In my opinion, if you own a Colt 45 automatic, you should have this book to give yourself a complete understanding of the Colt you own. You will not be disappointed.

This is that one book. Volume 2 is even better!

The Table of Contents is a little funky, but once you find what you're looking for, the information contained in this manual is great.

If you intend to work on your 1911 this is a must have reference book. pictures and explanations help in doing the work correctly. You can use the internet and take your chances on wither the information is correct or get the book used by gunsmiths to aid them. I believe this is the best book to keep your 1911 running perfect.
