It is a chain and it works, lots of OEM will spec this chain on their bikes so I just replace it with the same one. Decent durability. One suggestion I have for better performance is to remove the factory protective grease/lubricant on the chain. I find this just tends to add extra resistance to the drive train and attracts a lot of dirt and dust. Before installing soak this in degreaser for 30 min to an hour to remove, rinse and relube with your favourite chain lubricant. In addition the grease will transfer onto the cassettte, chainrings and pulleys causing them to attract a lot of dirt. I just see no benefit to leaving this on although there are many other opinions on this, I personally have not had much luck leaving on the factory lubricant.

I currently use this with a 1x11 SRAM PG 1130 cassette, X01 derailleur, and Wolf Tooth 34T ring for mountain biking Last season I ran it with the same cassette and two different rings; SRAM NX 32T and RaceFace Cinch 34T ring. The chain worked seamlessly with every configuration. Pros: -Lasted 340 miles before needing replacing, due to stretching -Quiet -Never failed, skipped or dropped -Works well with a quality chain breaker (Topeak, Park) -Good quality -Good price -Light -Compatible with many different brands -Most bike shops stock it -Very secure connecting link Con: -Stretched more than an inch over 1 year (stretching is to be expected with chains) Bottom line: -I bought another one without blinking. For a 1x11 setup you should look no further. Highly Recommended
