I make small batch handcrafted spice blends and the potency of these spices is so much better than the ones from the local supermarket. My wife came home right after I opened the bag and commented it smelled like a spice market in the house.

In Jamaica, Jerk chicken is grilled over pimento wood - the plant where allspice berries grow. I can’t get pimento wood where I live but I can get these allspice berries.I mix 1/4 cup of these whole allspice berries with hardwood chips, soak them in water for 30 minutes and put them in a cast iron “burner box” in the flames on either my gas grill or my charcoal Grille Dome Kamado smoker.That berry/wood mix slowly ignites and throws off intense smoke that is ideal for Jerk Chicken and a lot of other food.Allspice berries, when soaked and burned, give off a unique smoky odor that resembles a mix of cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg.These allspice berries used on a grill in this manner compliment a lot of food, not just chicken. I’ve used them to smoke fish, scallops, skirt steak and even burgers. Hope that helps!

Great spiced to find for a restaurant

Great value, but for whatever reason, I just cannot extract as much flavor from this allspice as I can with another brand that is 2x as expensive. I use allspice to make allspice dram with bacardi 151 and there is a noticeable difference in flavor and intensity. If you're not concerned with having maximum flavor, you get a lot of berries for the money.

When I first opened the bag, it smelled absolutle devine...I honestly don't ever wanna close it because it smells so good. My recipe takes 10 days to complete, so I haven't tasted them yet, but I'm certain it'll be wonderful

I use a LOT of spices, and as I like them fresh, I share with a lot of people so that the spices are consumed before they get anywhere near "old". I've found this brand to consistently provide excellent fresh spices.
