Fun project
This is a cost effective way to convert your road bike to legal electric power. It's a bit of a project but not difficult if you know bike mechanics. The kit comes with all the bits you need but be prepared for unexpected issues (I had to replace the brake cables on mine, and do some mods to get everything on the handlebars without interference. I also had to buy a torque fitting as my front forks were quite narrow. Worth ordering in advance). The rack battery placement is good but does make the bike top heavy A year on and it's still working well.

Amazing product and company
This was my first ebike kit and I was VERY impressed with the ease of installation and the performance. A flawless product which provided an effortless way to commute a 26 mile round trip. For best part of a year it was perfect and then something went wrong. The company were excellent in how they resolved the issue and a replacement part arrived the next day after reporting the issue. 10/10. Brilliant product and brilliant company. Would defo recommend to anyone considering upgrading to electric.

What it really takes to fit this kit - and what it is like to ride
First, I must say I’m pleased with the kit and I have managed to convert the bike that I wanted to. I don’t usually leave feedback but in the fitting of the kit I have benefited from tips from other people who have fitted similar kits and I felt it only right to leave some tips of my own. The quality of the kit, its components and the tools provided are excellent and the reason I have not given 4 stars is due to the instructions that come with it which are somewhat inadequate. The first thing to say is that this is a general kit designed to fit ‘most’ bikes, it is not designed specifically for your bike or any bike so unless you are really lucky you will have to modify either some components (not the electronics!) or your bike to make it fit. In my case I had to grind a small amount of metal from the inside of one of the forks, only about 2mm in depth and about a half a square centimetre in area at the very bottom. This is because a ridge on the motor caught against this part of the fork and so the wheel would not turn. I also had to add a shim to the axel on the same side. My bike has conventional brakes (not disc) and although the description of the kit specifies disc brakes it will fit a bike with conventional rim brakes. I did contact the supplier (Yose) before buying the kit to check this and they asked for a photo of the bike and told me the kit would fit. I chose the rear mounted carrier for the battery and controller. The kit comes with fittings to mount this around the V brake, these comprise two rods which were too long and I had to cut them down to make them fit. The instructions are basic and the photos not large enough to show detail, I ended up searching videos on Youtube to confirm certain configurations, Yose have some videos on their website but you need to pause and slow motion them to get the benefit but they did help. At the end of the assembly of the metal components it is time to wire everything up and at this point the instructions just say ‘now wire up your bike and your e-bike is complete’. That is it, no photos diagrams or instructions for wiring, you have to work it out yourself. Fortunately it is fairly logical, some of the plugs are colour coded although not all, the sockets on the controller are each a different shape so it is fairly easy to work out which plugs fit where. You will need to buy some decent cable ties, those supplied with the kit are useless, very flimsy and you can snap them with your fingers. I also recommend using electrical tape to secure the cables to each other to form a wiring loom. My kit came with a front light which I cannot use as it does not come with a bracket that will attach to my bike but it may fit others. Time to fully assemble was one and a half days which includes coffee breaks and lunch! Much of the time was spent trying to work out how to modify the bike or the kit so that things fitted correctly. At the end of the first day I had everything in place and the wiring just loosely connected so I could try a bench test to check it was basically working. Everything worked but I discovered that I had installed the LCD display upside down, until you power up there is no way to tell. The following day was just a couple of hours to properly route and secure the cable and I could successfully road test it. Looking forward now to riding it on a decent journey. Final comment, the instructions with the LCD are very simplified and to be fair they do say that but it is relatively easy to work out the menu system so not a problem. Update 1 week later - just done a 25 mile ride on the bike. No problems at all and the battery still had 3 bars left on its power indicator so would have gone further. I didn't spare the battery either pushing on quite hard. Very pleased. Rode really well, only thing you have to be aware of it that it is front wheel drive so it does have power oversteer if you are trying to do a 180 degree turn in a narrow road :-)

Easy conversion from bike to E bike for a good price..
It was an easy job to fit the kit with the tools provided, battery fully charged in 7 hours. Found the main cables a bit long for the front down tube kit, but not a major problem to tidy up See pictures. I had to buy two extra component's a pair of Brake sensors and a pedal sensor as my brake and gear leavers are one unit see pics. The spine in the crank was to deep in to hold the kit sensor stable, so now have round the crank sensor see pics. Both extra components bought plugged straight into the existing kit see pics. PS you will need some more cable ties to tidy up the extra cable see pics.. Many thanks ..T..

Gave my old bike a lease of life
Had the electric bike kit over a year now done about 500 miles now, my ride to work is quite hilly and I ride it on full power doing about 18-20 mph (but you have to peddle a bit) and charge it after I’ve done 20 miles I’m not sure if it would get me to work and back after that . It’s also legal definitely a good buy it has gave my old bike a new lease of life.
