Hi-Tec-C 04 Gel Ink Pen, Ultra Fine Point 0.4mm, Black Ink, LH-20C4, Value Set of 5

I ordered these Pilot Hi-Tec-C 04 and PenMont Retractable Gel Roller Pens to compare. While PenMont makes even finer line (that was a point of me buying both), it requires 90 deg angle for smooth writting experience. Pilot's line is nearly unnoticeably thicker, but the writing it smoother even at steep angles which was immediately noticeable for me. Pilot is an inch shorter, a little bit heavier (they are both small lightweight pens). All in all I prefer the Pilot due to very smooth writing experience.

I love my Pilot Hi-Tec 04 Gel ink pen. This pen's thin and smooth tip is perfect for signature and writing notes in the office.

I have to take a lot of hand written notes. I am trying to switch over to a digital writing pad, but speed (volume) is the most important thing and these pens can keep up with my fastest scribbling. These pens don't bind or jam. I have used 5 of the black so far, draining the ink completely each time. Other pens usually fail long before they run out of ink, but these (in all colors I have tried) will work well until depleted (unless you lose them). They are FINE POINT. They will tear the paper or poke through if you try to press with too much force. But if you train yourself to write 'lightly' the ink is clear and readable, flows without hiccups and dries fast enough that smudging (for a right handed person, anyway) is not a problem.

Pens were purchased requested by teens in the house , was an easy yes for mom. And I liked them so much I charged them two for my services lol. But for real not cheaply made. Good for price

This appears to either be a really good knock off or a different version of the pilot G Tec C4 that I have used in the past. Attaching a picture of my original one, and then the one I received. But they write very nicely and seem to be generous, with the amount of ink contained. So I’m not complaining. They will feel slightly different in your hand - slightly bigger it seems and a little bit heavier.

Simply put, these are still the best-in-class for job pens. Pentel recently ruined their Hybrid Technicas with a design flaw through the intention of no longer allowing their job pens to be refillable. Ironically, that redesign ruined the pen in multiple ways of actual performance (skipping, difficult flow) while retaining their premium price on it. However, Pilot retains their classic design and execution for the Tec-C series: The outcome is superb as always. The ink starts flowing as soon as the tip reaches paper with every stroke and maintains a consistent flow throughout. No skipping. You can make the line as fine as you wish with a curve or put down the full 0.4 thickness. Gravity is low, the grip is slender and comfortable, and, best of all, the gel container is replaceable with refills (if you're able to find them, the Coleto refills won't work here because they're designed for a multipen with a different shape). Pick this. You won't be disappointed.

I love these pens. Extra fine writing, which is much needed on my job. I will never purchase anything else!
