we got this lead a few years ago as it's the only lead that is suitable for our st Bernard. It's very good and has lasted perfectly these few years and sure no signs of wearing out. This purchase is for our second St Bernard as the current one is still going strong (I have opened it and cleaned the bearing a bit) The only issue is now the lead has a tendency to flip and introduce a fold in the lead meaning that it no longer reels in properly and you have to reel it out and manually flip the lead tape back over. The newer lead didn't suffer quite so much from this so much. The tape is quite easily strong enough to hold him, as are the ratchets of the bobin and the lock mechanism. You just need to make sure the collar or harness is equally tough 🙂 Handle is comfortable to hold although not quite big enough to put my hands through with big gloves. Design is a classic Flexi style with a 'stop' button and lock initiated and released all with the thumb. The only thing I would wish to see is a tough d ring to attach a carabineer to allow the lead to be looped around trees or benches when stopped and lead is locked. Or even to hang a poo bag holder from. I just added my own per the pic.

The best dog lead at an affordable price. This is the 3rd one I’ve purchased. Only replaced over periods of time due to our great British weather (rain) it gets wet/damp & fails to recoil easily.

Great, could be leads bulky but perfect for the job

Good flexible 5m lead bought for use with staffie puppy. We've been a tad nervous to use it as had one experience years ago where our other staffie pulled and snapped a flexible lead. Bit of a worry. Thankfully, this one seems very strong and is holding up to the boisterous strength of a 6 month pup. We're still training her sp there are times when she will run and not recall so moments of having your shoulder potentially dislocated are there but the lead retracts well without a problem after. Size is comfortable in hand and button easy to use, no problem locking. Not atal heavy so I take two leads in the walk and it's fine. Functional use, perfect for new pup or nervous dog as 5m is just enough. Will upgrade to longer length soon as she wants to explore more. Cost at the time was just under £13 which is good value for a flexible lead. Happy with purchase.

I bought the Flexi New Classic 8m Retractable Dog Leash for my dog, and it’s been amazing for our walks. Whether we’re exploring wooded paths or strolling through the park, my pup gets the freedom to sniff and roam, while I still have full control. The leash is super strong, perfect for my dog who loves to explore every inch of the trail (or road). It extends smoothly, and the brake system works like a charm when I need to rein him in (squirrels!). The leash handle is comfortable to hold, even on long walks, and the 8 meters of tape give plenty of room for my dog to feel like he’s on his own adventure. It’s rated for dogs up to 50kg, and even though my dog isn’t quite that heavy, it’s nice knowing I have the security if he decides to pull a bit harder. Bonus points for how sturdy it feels, this is not one of those flimsy retractable leashes that makes you worry about it snapping! The leash rolls in and out smoothly, and the tape itself is nice and durable, even after multiple muddy walks. If you’ve got a dog that loves to explore but you still want the comfort of control, this leash is perfect. Plus, it’s surprisingly lightweight for such a strong product!

I bought two of these. They are very comfy able in the hand unlike many others. They hold well when the length is restricted. Used for a Maltese terrier and a Chihuahua.
