RAVENOL J1D2160-004 ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) - FZ Fluid Full Synthetic for Mazda 6-Speed Transmissions (4 Liter)

I drained and changed my 2016 mazda3 transmission fluid. I ordered from this company and they got it to me in a hurry. My transmission runs great now.

This stuff meets OEM spec for my 2015 Mazda3 i Grand Touring with the 6spd automatic transmission.The fluid I drained out of my transmission at 30k miles was very green, not at all blue. Now I know that transmission fluid changes color, but a change from bright blue to dull green worried me, so I ended up calling the dealer to verify that the color change is normal and I wasn't accidentally putting the wrong fluid in my vehicle. They told me it that the Mazda fluid is the same bright blue color and that the color change is normal. Fluid's been in about a month now with no issues. Will buy again every 30k miles. Don't believe Mazda when they tell you their Skyactive transmission fluid is a "lifetime" fluid. Remember that the "lifetime" of their powertrain warranty is only 60k miles.

I own a Mazda 3 2015 Grand Touring (automatic) with close to 63,950 miles. I had never changed the transmission fluid but I'm glad I did it. Just by removing the drain plug I was able to get close to 3.5 liters out. The car is shifting much more smoothly. It's relatively easy to do, and the product is top quality.

It's blue and it's made for Mazdas. It seems to be working well in my car. I don't believe in "lifetime" fluids. I've changed the fluid in my Mazda 3 about every 30k miles. I don't have a bottle of Mazda ATF to compare but this seems to have a stronger odor than I recall. It's nice having one jug but the spout takes some getting used to so keep some rags handy. I will likely buy again for my next drain and refill.

Ravenol makes the FZ fluid for Mazda from what I found searching the internet. They are a known name oil company overseas (think Mobil or Castrol) but just don't have a real presence in the USA. I used this for a simple drain and fill on a 2016 CX-5 6 months and 8k miles ago and have had zero issues. Two dealer inspections since then and didn't get a "Blah! Something is fishy with your transmission fluid!", if you are paranoid, it's the same stuff. Save some money AND buy it from the source, and on top of the the lid has a built in spout. Peel up the half rings on top and pull up, you might mot even need a funnel depending on your model of Skyactiv Mazda.

Update.I now use Val volume full synthetic multi vehicle.Much less costlyWorks perfectly well.Not sure if it’s Necessary for mazda transmissions, to maintain this unique blue fluid. It has been 15,000 miles since my last replacement. Vehicle now has 75,000 miles and I will be exchanging the fluid every 15,000 now. And immediate improvement in the performance and smoothness of the shifting.I’m now just using the multi purpose valviline. Spend the money on OEM fluids if you insist. .

After a 60K miles on my Mazda CX-5, I decided to do a DIY on replacing my Transfer Case or Trans-axel Oil with this alternative to the Mazda brand equivalent. Simple drain and refill: 3.5 liters. After a day, I notice the smoothness in accelerating compared to prior oil replacement. No negative effect and best thing is it save me $. Recommended! I give it a 5 Stars
