As advertised
Works with 46k jumpers TYT and Baofeng handie talkies. Plug and play. Great portable crossband link.

Perfect solution for a short range repeater.
Was not sure what to expect but it did not disappoint. Easy to setup, hooked up 2 radios and tested. Audio is clear, no difference found with this device inline. Less than a half second delay for the transmitter to start when signal received. I did not test the battery life but the battery came with some charge in it and worked out of the box before I connected the USB to fully charge it. I have 2 Baofeng BF-888sa radios connected to it, my UV-5R also connects just fine along with my BF-F8HP. For a simple short range repeater solution this gets the job done. It has been operating for 3 weeks at the time of this review.

Works Quite Well... ...Cable Quality Issue, Though
This repeater functions very well. It keys the sending radio quickly, and the audio quality seems pretty good. I think it is a great value. I will say though that I had an issue at first. There appears to be some variation in the relative depth of the two pins on the connectors for the radios. One cable was causing the opposing radio to key continuously, unless I pressed on the top of it. This was in Baofeng radios, and the problem stayed with the cable, not the radio. I was able to remedy it by putting a rubber band around the radio, as shown. One of the two cables received with the radio needed this, the other one didn't. I contacted the manufacturer, and they sent me two new cables. Again, one of those exhibited this problem, and the other one didn't. I do believe it is a depth issue, see the attached photos showing the relative angles between a bad and a good cable. I think if they improve the fixturing for this cable they can remedy this. Those of you saying this thing is no good for same-band repeating: That's on the radios, not on the repeater. Having two $20 walkie talkies side-by-side and expecting them to do well even if they are 5MHz apart is a pretty big ask. It does work quite well cross-band, though.

Very happy with my purchase
Incredible products well worth the money Beach traditional repeaters 100% great for anyone that's going backpacking hiking or camping or just generally has children that they need to keep in communication with

Does not work
This thing did not work. What I mean is that it will retransmit from one radio to the other, but will not extend range at all, it will actually decrease range. I had this hooked up with 2 Retevis H-777. RX radio was 459.12500MHz and TX was 464.50000MHz. I bought 3mm ferite chokers, as another reviewer had suggested, and put those on every cable. The instructions said the antennas needed to be at least 5 meters apart. I ordered 2 Nagoya UT-108UV antennas and had them hooked up. I went as far to test these as to place the RX antenna on the 1st floor of our hotel and the TX antenna on the 3rd floor, directly on top of each other in the stair well as the pictures seem to indicate. I didn't get out a tape measure and check the distance, but we have 10 foot ceilings so I know it was at least 5 meters. When I tried using the radios to test, their were very staticy and the further you walked away, the worse it got. Around a 100 feet or so, the radios wouldn't even pick you up. Unplug them from the Surecom SR-629 and the receive radio picks you up loud and clear and you could go as far as our parking lot would let you go, about 6 times the range as before. If you used the transmit radio, the other person heard you loud and clear. After all this testing, it seemed clear that this was not going to work and we just went back to transmitting and receiving radio to radio as we had done before the Surecom SR-629. If it requires a duplexer to use just 1 antenna, then it should state that in the description so I would have either known to buy that as well, or just wouldn't have wasted my time and money. I still don't know if it would work with a duplexer installed or not.

Fails to Meet Expectations
The device does its job, allowing one way or two way transmission. But, I have only been able to get approximately 100 -200ft of range from the transmitting radio. I have tried several different devices from different manufacturers without any luck.

Really reliable radio keying and voice detection, terrible desense and interference.
I am really split on this thing. On the one hand it ground the carrier and keys the radio without the need for VOX, and does so perfectly. On the other, the results are lacking because the two radios cannot possibly be separated far enough to have more than a few hundred feet of range. Massive desense issues, even with a duplexer for me. Never could get it to work well enough to use. It would be nice if the included cables were more like 15 feet long and had ferrites on them. That said, the audio recognition and radio keyup are fast and reliable, so these work well to make Zello links to a radio. The upcoming Surecom SR729 is infact, this exact unit with moddified software that pulses the carrier ground rather than holding it. This way it works with Android phones and Zello natively. I will be buying a pile of those the moment they are available.
