Surprisingly good, pricey but well justified
Previously had a pair of DT770 pro's which where great however I was getting annoyed with them being wired, finally decided to try out a pair of wireless headsets. Did a bunch of research and found this pair was pretty much the best mid range headset for gaming, sound quality is great, it has the lowest latency that I could find in a headset anywhere, very comfortable, decent battery life. I've used it for just under a week now and I'm very happy, every forum I looked through regarding wireless headsets was always filled with people recommending steelseries headsets and now I understand why. It feels high quality, the sound is identical, if not better in terms of bass than the DT770's (I'm in no means an expert in sound stuff, just sounds better to me). On a full charge the battery easily lasts for a full day of gaming/watching netflix etc. I'd recommend doing what I do though and plugging the charger in whenever you're away from your PC for more than a few mins so it's constantly topped up. Haven't experienced any real downsides, the headset strap is easily adjustable, and though the velcro part of the strap doesn't seem to offer much wiggle room in terms of adjusting, the velcro holds on well to just the strap material itself so no issues there. I don't really use the mic as I have a quadcast on a boom arm, but I did test it a fair bit and whilst it's not the best mic, it's definitely a solid 7/10, you'd have no issues at all with using the mic as a daily driver. Overall I'd give this headset a hearty 9/10, was a bit weary of the price tag but considering the pure quality and well thought out design it earns it. And from what I've read via reviews etc. I have no doubt this headset will last for a very long time.

Amazing kit for competitive gaming and music!
This is perhaps one of the most versatile headsets I have ever owned. Not only does it use lossless wireless, it also supports a bluetooth connection so you can connect directly to your phone or laptop without needing the transmitter base. It is very comfortable thanks to the strap that at first I almost did not want to buy it due to the strap. However, strap was easy to adjust (far easier than I expected) and it only took me two attempts to get it just right. The strap also makes the headset feel a lot lighter on the head as you do not have anything hard pressing resting on the top of your head. The earpads bend all sorts of ways so you can get that perfect angle you want to have it on your ears to suit the shape of anyone's head. Comfort aside, the hot swap batteries work so well, shockingly I do get the advertised +-10 to 9 hours of usage per charge per battery. The batteries charge very fast in the transmitter base and tend to be fully charged long before your current charge is empty on the battery you are using (fun fact: the design of the batteries is pretty much identical to that of the much loved G7 Logitech gaming mouse, so if you have used that then this will feel all too familiar!) In terms of sound quality this is far better than any headset I have ever owned and I think you actually will not be able to find a headset that can beat the sound quality on this device! The reason I say that is that the drivers in this headset are clearly designed to perform well regardless what you toss at them - music, movies or games it just can take it and then some! Using the official SteelSeries software you can get the most out of it though and can setup mutiple set sound profiles so if you prefer it one way for one game or for music and then another way for a different game or for movies for example you can just rightclick on the SteelSeries app and select the profile you have setup in advance. The sound really changes drastically depending on the settings you put in the app but regardless of settings you can really hear how well these drivers perform. The output is just such a high fidelity regardless of what you are listening to that nothing can outperform this headset. There is also a clear distinction when you enable and disable the surround sound not just in games but also even in music. If you are listening to any music that has an orchestral background for example the surround really helps you hear the depth of the orchestra versus the surround off it will sound a lot more bland. This is also why this headset shines in that any audiophile headset a- will not have a built in microphone (which all my friends on Discord say sounds extremely clear) and b- will not perform equally good on all sound usage. Audiophile headsets tend to perform best at music but then if you give them a game or a movie their performance just is not as good as a gaming headset. But where previous gaming headsets failed at music, this one really shines especially with the simulated surround sound using DTS X v2.0 it just somehow processes the stereo sound in such a way that your ears perceive it as being far deeper than a regular stereo headset. I have used other surround headsets but DTS-X v2.0 just is a massive improvement in the technology over previous surround headsets. The specs speak for themselves if you compare them to audiophile headsets you really see how great the drivers are in this headset added on to this what DTS X v2.0 can get out of them is why so many people rave about this product.

Fantastic headset, but with subtle flaws
Firstly, I have wanted a pair of arctis pros for about 2 years, so you can imagine I really wanted to like these. I bought this headset to use on my pc for some gaming, also for movies, music, but also for my ps5. This is my main gaming platform. Using the headset on the pc was excellent. Sound is crisp and clear, and can be edited to your liking. This goes for music and movies too. The high Def sound quality is very nice too. The outside noise however, is really apparent whilst using these. I can hear birds chirping outside, and my window is slightly open, so it's not the best for blocking out any background noise. This isn't something that would bother me much though, so I can live with this. When it came to using the headset and gamedac on the ps5, firstly, using the ps5 via USB only mode worked fine. I could not get used to the 3d tempest audio though, but I suppose that is subjective and not something I could blame on a specific headset. Again, so far, nothing I would consider a deal breaker. Using the ps5 via an optical solution is my preferred choice, as I have used DTS:X headphones since my first set so I have got used to the sound. The DTS:X sounded great, but nothing I would say differs from other brands offering a similar sound setting. Again, that is subjective. The quality of the sound is amazing in all games. Probably the best I have experienced to date for a gaming headset. However when trying to create an FPS style equaliser setting, where you would try and enhance the footsteps, reloads, loot boxes and alike, you are able to enhance the frequencies made by these sounds, however they become too loud to bear and actually hurt my ears, so I have to reduce the volume, which doesn't really work for me as other sounds become too quite to hear. A dynamic range compressor would fix this issue, however for some reason SteelSeries do not offer this solution on their flagship model, but I believe they offer this on a couple of models like the 7p. I have been through countless forums and it appears users who have raised this with SteelSeries have been advised it's not likely to come to the acrtis pro gamedac via an update. The final flaw and deal breaker for me was that the equaliser settings also affects my friend's chat voices. So when I change the values on the equaliser, not only is the game sound is affected (as you would expect), but also your friends' voices are affected, which means those frequencies in the game that you're trying to enhance through the equaliser, is also enhancing the same frequencies in the chat voices too, which is counter productive to what I needed the equaliser to do. Mostly I play online with friends, so chat is also a big factor I need to take into consideration when buying a headset. I don't play much single player games anymore so for my use case, this headset isn't for me. There are other headsets which are able to change the game sound eq and not affect the chat voices as a result, as well as offer some sound compression, and these little issues bothered me too much, so I have returned the headset to buy a different one. The subtle flaws I have experienced were not something I have seen on any review, which is why I have taken some time to write down my experience, so it may be something which someone else may also find a deal breaker in a gaming headset, but won't know until they have it their hands and are try using it on a ps5. Overall though a fantastic headset, but just not for me.

Best Headset I've ever Owned.
The headset is comfortable, sounds great, and the mic works a treat. A headset being Wireless is now a requirement for me. I've never realized just how much I hated running over the wires with my chair and having to take them off to walk around the house. It's so much more comfortable being untethered from your PC. I've had so many headsets over the years (Turtlebeach, Astros, Corsair, Logitech) but these are the bee's knee's. The best thing I can say about this headset is the build quality. It's feels superbly well made. The headband is metal so you don't get any of that creaky plastic vibe and the rest of plastic components don't feel cheap and brittle. The fabric earphones haven't gone all gross and smelly. I've been using mine for two years now and you'd barely be able to tell they weren't new. This headset comes with a fantastic feature, the Bluetooth connectivity. You can be playing games AND have you're phone connected via bluetooth at the same time with whatever you want going on. Music, Phonecalls, or watching Youtube... I'm always using this feature to have conversations on the phone while playing games as if the person on the phone were in the Discord with me. Sometimes I just Bluetooth to my phone or laptop and use the headset to listen to music around the house (wireless baby!). The wireless has a huge range and the sound quality hasn't dipped for a second even when I'm the complete other side of the house from my PC or Phone. Having the duel batteries completely negates any argument for "but you have to charge Wireless". It takes 8 seconds to swap the batteries and the headset gives you fair warning when the battery is going to be depleted. The batteries last as long time and charge quickly. It's honestly worth the extra money. I reckon these are the best Wireless headsets available for this pricepoint.

Steelseries Arctis 9
Will update as I go along and will show images in the future: So, I'll start with the connectivity. The Bluetooth connection works completed fine before and after you update the software on your headphones. But here's a catch, if your headset isn't showing up on any of your Bluetooth devices, just hold down the Bluetooth connection more than 6s (10s I would say) untill the blue light starts blinking faster and check again as this unpairs your headset. Yea it doesn't tell you this on any instructions and had to physically find it out myself. Charging: currently I don't know myself as it arrived with 70+ battery life and only used 30% in a week so I'm currently testing it right now. I can see how these headset earpieces can break but they're quite reasonably strong ( I haven't tried bending them bc high value item but in my eyes they do look a little more sturdy then what people are talking about) Dongle: I love the dongle idea because they say Bluetooth has some lag and not the best for gaming. So they designed the dongle for pc and PS just need to flick the switch (after it's plugged in (u may want to download the software on pc for pc) and press connect after you chose either pc or ps) Dual connectivity: I love the idea of these, I could be playing I don't know, warzone for example and my phone recieves a phone call, you wouldn't be looking at your phone or even hear it if you are playing. However this headset once connected to your phone and pc/PS4 it'll let you know when someone is calling you or receiving a notification that's important. The microphone: ok Im not a massive fan with sidetone as I personally hate my own voice 😂 but I can see why it's a feature, some people would check if their voice is being heard before streaming or gaming and you can always turn it off in the software too. The microphone is really clear and picks up the slightest sound you make (as I tested it with side tone) Overall I love these headset because when I'm outside, I can hide the mic because having a massive microphone can be a bit weird when your walking around with them and they're nice and easily tucked away. Would I pay this price? Hmm well with some of the Bluetooth problem I would say probably not but I'm happy that I did because it has everything I love about this product and hopefully it'll last years🤞 Pros: • Great for playstation 5, had no issues so far • really really comfortable in every way possible • connectivity (Bluetooth and dongle) • battery life. • easy adjustment • good mic • good dual connectivity • connectivity with dongle is good • reasonably sturdy but can see how you can get cracks within them Cons: • can get an annoying constant beeping noise (headset low on charge or to far away from your dongle if connected) • clearer instructions for example the Bluetooth unpair and repair problem that I faced. • not a type c charger as I was kinda expecting it to have due to the "high end product" • not much bass but can be toggled

Good quality gaming and music audio, and mic seems great
Purchased to use on my gaming desktop as I dislike wearing over ear headphones; - The sound quality is very good, but not great (as expected at this price) but is easily good enough for gaming and good quality music audio - They fit around the ear very well, you need to wear them a few times to shape them for a more comfortable feel - The ear buds themselves are slightly awkware, they come in 3 sizes (small being too small, large being too large..) and the mediums are ok but still feel a little big - Mic quality seems good, I've been using with friends on Discord and they didn't notice any real difference compared to my HyperX headphones in terms of mic quality

A great product ruined by Longevity and Customer Support.
This review i will split into 2 parts, one at the start of the purchase and one from the current state, a year and a half on. There is a small TLDR at the bottom just incase the text block is too long. These were purchased on October 2019 and they were great. I love wireless headphones and the sound quality is very good. They were comfortable and held on pretty well onto my head. I also loved the feature that on the dongle you could connect another device and listen to them both at the same time. The sound mix feature was annoying at times because you'd accidently hit it and wonder why you couldnt hear the people on discord, but it did have its uses also. I was very happy with the product and thought to myself, i would buy this again if it ever broke or after i was done with it. Fast forward 1 and a half years. Issues started to arise with the headset. One day hearing a rattle in each side of the headset, what sounded like loose screws started to bother me a little, but not really affecting use, more of an annoyance. A couple of weeks later one of the sides started to rotate on an axis it wasn't meant to, meaning the headphones were near unusable, as it would be very difficult to hold onto your head. An unfortunate occurance, but surely contacting Steelseries would be easy and they have 2 years warranty so a replacement would be very easy, or so i thought. I got in contact with Steelseries and there response times were good, considering we are in the middle of a pandemic at this current time. I started going through the steps with them and was asked for a photo of the product and a receipt which i tried my best to do. I then got asked to send a video, which was incredibly difficult to do on my own, but i managed to show the axis of rotation that shouldn't be possible on the product, and i got reasked to show a valid invoice, which again i thought was fine. I then got asked again to send a screenshot of the invoice and i finally got it correct with the format they wanted. This was enough and they started the actual RMA process with a list of steps i had to do, checking that my product was eligible for return, which it was, they wanted 4 things from me. They wanted a receipt (which i'd already done 3 times so i think this was completed), they wanted the serial number of the product, they wanted photos of back sides and front, and my full name and address. Here lies one of the main problems with the product for RMA. The serial number is on a small sticker just above where the headband loops under to tighten it. Because of its position, it had wore away the serial numbers so I couldn't read them and it had just fallen off the product. This had voided my warranty immediately and i was given no other options but to maybe try and fix it myself through the troubleshooting steps on the website. If i was a skeptical person, it wouldn't be a far stretch to imagine the placement of the serial number was on purpose to make RMA requests impossible in the future to save money. If i wasn't skeptical i'd say it's just bad design and an unfortunate oversight, but nevertheless, to decline RMA from a clearly broken product is unacceptable in my book, and has tainted my relationship with Steelseries as a whole. TLDR; A great product that might not last 2 years but you might have difficulty RMA'ing the product from poor design/decisions. I have had plenty of products from Steelseries, but i must not support them after this, and i feel it is important to pass on the information so people have everything they need to make an informed decision. Good luck with your future purchases.

Genuine wireless connectivity for XBox One and upcoming Series X
I had a set of Astro A50's connected to my XBox One via optical audio, then it was announced that the XBox Series X would not have a optical audio port, requiring a bit of a rethink on my part. I've tried several different manufacturers/models and for me, this is the best combination of price, features and general quality out there. Unlike several competitors, these are the only XBox certified wireless I've found that work seamlessly with both the Xbox One and X Box Series X (obviously on that last one I'm taking SteelSeries and XBox word for it, as today is Halloween, and I've got 10 days to wait for shiny new Series X, though you tubers vids look promising). Many that claim to be wireless still require you to run a 3.5mm cable to your controller for mic usage in games, this model does not - it pairs to the Xbox in exactly the same way as your controller - press button on headset, press 'pair' button on front of X console, 'et voila!' (you even receive an official message on screen at this point ' 'headset assigned'). Further features - - Discord certified mic (very clear) - Dolby Atmos (just download the XBox Dolby Atmos app and set up for brilliant sound) - Allows Bluetooth connection, so you can listen to music / take phone calls at the same time as a gaming session) - 'Ski Goggle' style headband, which I've found very comfortable in long gaming sessions - Windows PC can be connected by purchasing a XBox wireless adaptor for your PC (similar to that used to connect an XBox controller to a W10 PC) All in all, I highly recommend this product! - Happy gaming
