For the Audiophile!
For a while now I've been bemoaning the disappearance of the Audiophile. It seemed like no one was catering to people that want their music to sound GOOD.... I mean really good. I would fall into that group and I was beginning to get frustrated. You just can't get good audio gear without spending thousands of dollars. I'm an audio engineer (award winning) and my home stereo set up couldn't hold a candle to my studio set up. To get anywhere close to my studio gear it would have been necessary to spend way more money than I've got to spend.Compound my frustration with the fact that I've been hanging onto a pair of really nice speakers.Enter the Technic SA C-100 Receiver. It's no wonder they use the word premium. I've had the receiver for about 6 months now and I still can't quit smiling. Even when streaming MP's from various streaming services, I'm once again getting the kind of awesome sound that I've been wanting for quite a while now.I could go over all the cool ways this receiver works but there will be tons of those. I want to tell you how it SOUNDS.... and it sounds amazing. Yeah, I said it, it sounds amazing and it's at a cost that's a LOT less than all kinds of high dollar gear out there.I know a lot of people don't hold a lot of stock in reviews on Amazon, especially Vine reviewers like my self. Do not let that stop you on this receiver. It's crystal clear with what it does. There's no detectable noise from the amplifier and let's just face facts here. There's nothing that can compare to a new piece of gear that will put a smile on your face. The Technic SA C-100 will definitely put a smile on your face.

Good
This is great - excellent sound quality and the overall quality is very high, as it should be for the price. I don’t find it to be a great value, but it does have wonderful features. Installation definitely requires a lot of other items, but once you’re hooked up and attached to power, it’s a great product!

Purchased 11 months ago - no longer works
I use this receiver pretty infrequently. It was an impulse buy that I regret, especially now. I've had issues with it since the get go, I tried connecting to it today and it shuts itself down every time. I have contacted technics to see if they will help - if they do, I'll update my review to a positive one but I do not have high hopes.

Nice it is a compact system but....
This system is overpriced for having the sound quality issues it has. Very high THD. Muddy, bassy, and difficult to use.It has no internal crossover filter apparently. So it sends all frequencies to the main speakers and to the subwoofer, as well. Hopefully your subwoofer has its own built-in way to filter the higher frequencies out. You'd probably need bass-blockers to be inline with the main speakers to stop the low frequencies from going there. This is pitiful and ridiculous. The unit is very slow to start up and then asks you to connect to wifi every time it pwers on if you don't happen to want to set wifi up. They seem to want to collect data from you really badly. They also offer control via the phone app (Technics Audio Center). We discovered the functions of the phone app did not add much of anything to what the hand-held remote can do.Note that the system is pretty touchy - if we ran speaker wires to the inputs on the back of the subwoofer to utilize the subwoofer's crossover (remember, this sound system has none of its own), then to the main speakers, the Technics SA-C100 would shut itself off instantly. That is, as soon as you tried to turn on the amp it would power off immediately. (All of our speakers/components were within specifications - 4 ohms in our case.) Then if you instead hooked up the main speakers to the amp directly and used the 'subwoofer' output to the sub, it would work. This is bizarre.Note also that it is inaccurate to call the subwoofer out a 'subwoofer' type output because that would imply that the (non-existent) internal crossover was sending low frequencies out. What it should just call it is mono-output or something because it is just sending a non-stereo full frequency output to the subwoofer. To say that this stereo sounds bassy is an understatement. What the designers SHOULD have done is emit a FLAT output and allow the user to equalize it however they want. Instead they did their own pre-equalization which is bassy and muddy and horrible and gave you two lousy tone controls (Treble/Bass) and some pre-EQ settings which they call Space Tuning. We ended up setting the space tuning to WALL and the Bass setting to -10 (minimum allowed) and the Treble setting to +10 (max allowed) to get a tolerable sound. [The successor to this system is the SA-C600 and it has 3 tone controls, I believe - they added a MID setting as I understand it.]If you want really good sound, this is not the unit to get. Audiophiles would be appalled.BTW - some reviewers complain that they think they cannot use banana plug wiring on this system. This is not true. You can use them - just tighten the rear connectors down all the way and stick the plugs into the holes at the end of the speaker wire connectors(terminals) on the back of the amp.
