I recently purchased the Zoomtools Engine Camshaft Alignment Timing Locking Tool Kit.The kit is well made and comes in a very nice box.Definitely a must have tool for anyone working on these engines.

Just got round to using this for the first time yesterday....nicely made and works perfectly....well worth having as it saved a lot of mucking about!

The media could not be loaded. Camshaft alignment, timing tool kit.I'm not a car mechanic, but hopefully other reviewers who are may have some experience with these affordable kits to give a more informed opinion.IMO. This tool is aimed more at the tinkerer, and that's reflected in the price. Quite a saving if you need to align the crankshaft TDC and do the timing chain yourself though.Comes in a thick plastic case for easy storage, and has a bit of weight to the parts too.The parts have been cast out of an alloy metal I assume, whereas a pro kit would probably be milled to a finer finish I'd expect.As long as the fixing holes and points align up correctly then you shouldn't have any problems with it I suppose.Not tried it out to be fair.This kit is advertised for direct injection petrol chain drive engines with 1.4/16 16V timing, fitted to:BMWMini Cooper N12 N14 1.4 1.6CitroenPeugeot N16 EnginesCONCLUSION:If you're doing a one off job, then this will save you a chunk of change. Although not the fine workmanship as advertised, but if it will suffice, then why not go for it.I'd personally wait for a professional's review before I took the plunge though.

Set the timing on my mini copper went without any problem. Great tool kit at great price.
