I've been climbing and rappelling for years and used a vast assortment of gear.....and I've always been a fan of the figure 8 for versatility and simplicity. The standard figure 8 however, has many limitations that prevent it from being as useful as it should. I have often had to alter my gear loadout in order to accommodate the use of an 8......particularly when it came to rope diameter. The standard 8 has lots of problems with ropes over 10mm.......but this beast can easily use 3/4" or 18mm bull ropes the same way a normal 8 can use a 10mm! I am finally able to use a proper 1/2" rope for a 200+ ft tactical rappel! And the large ears prevent any size rope from flipping mid use which is always an issue with a standard 8 if you lose focus for any reason.......like watching your footing rather than your gear. I've tested this extensively and found it can do ANYTHING a normal 8 can do and quite a bit that a normal 8 cant. Worth every penny, super strong, extremely tough (even the finish) and more versatile than any other piece of rappelling gear I have ever used aside from the legendary screwgate carabiner (they can do anything needed if you just think of how to make it happen!). All in all, I could have avoided at least 80% of the gear I have purchased had I simply gotten this first.

Seems to be of good quality havent had a chance to use yet but looks as if its as good as any others ive used in the past for tree work

I like this item for its performance, but it is kind of big compared to a regular figure 8...

I bought 2 of these to rig larger limbs on a speed line. They work great they are also a better quality than I honestly expected.

Works great easy to rappel, great for stalling in place, throwing as a hook or just a weight.

Super strong, extremely light weight and superb finish. The rope slides effortlessly and this is a professional piece of equipment.

Very happy with the product with a great finish met or exceeded my expectations.
