There are several models of BigAlex on Amazon, and they are all excellent except: No model numbers are shown on Amazon, the cane itself, or the instructions that come with the cane. That means you can’t select a cane by model number. You must rely on reading the full Amazon descriptions. The length of the cane is difficult to find. You must search all the descriptions to find it. Most models come with a light. I have found only one that allows adjustment of the beam direction. You must search very carefully through the entire descriptions to find which one can be adjusted. It is my opinion that the beam adjustment feature is a requirement. Some have complained that their light stops working. While it is certainly possible that the light can be defective, there is a great likelihood that the battery cap got installed incorrectly. The threads on the battery cap are extremely fine and cross threading is very common. I find that I must make three or more tries before I get a good non-cross threaded fit. My cane has taken many hard falls with no light failures. It has been reported that Duracell batteries won’t work the light in this cane. I can verify that to be true. The positive connection on the battery is too short to complete the circuit of the light. Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries work just fine. I have tried another brand just marked “ENERGIZER.” of an unknown manufacturer and it worked well. I would advise trying a replacement brand battery before needed just to be sure it works. By the way, the batteries are AA. If you can deal with the issues above, you should love this cane. UPDATE 08/15/21 Thi cane was ordered 03/14/21 and the light stopped working 08/10/21. I contacted Amazon, and they said that they would contact the seller, and if I didn't hear from him in a few days to get back in touch with them. The next morning I had an email from the seller informing me that they would send me a new cane - no return required. The new cane was delivered 08/13/21. This is exceptional service. The cane is fantastic, and with this exceptional service, I highly recommend the cane and seller.

This wonderful cane has changed my life in an instant. I needed something to lean on in lines or when my dog stops to smell the roses. It turns out that it's way more helpful than I could have dreamed. The base lets it grab the surface at any angle, and it gives me the flexibility to lean any way I want. My dog can no longer yank my back out of alignment, because I simply lean back on the cane to resist. It is great for helping me stand after bending over. It lets me move my body any which way while leaning on it. I love all of that, and I especially love the light! I love jow it tilts up and down so you can see what you want. I used it when entering my dark house and suddenly I didn't have to worry about bumping into or tripping iver things while searching for the light! I went to a local indie rock show and showed it off to all my friends, telling them that 50 is the new 80. But joking aside, while several people have tried to tell me that by using a cane I am giving in to my disability and letting it win, my experience is the opposite. I find that it has liberated me, allowing me to remain upright for longer and to move more. My ONE concern about this item (based on the price) is that it will not last. If it falls apart or if it wears out and I can't find replacement parts, I will update this review. But as of now I can find nothing wrong with it. This cane is my new best friend!

Very good cane, easy to use and light weight. But might not be the best choice for people with balance issues. I thought the little quad foot would be good, but it just felt wobbly, eve3n with another brand/style. I switched to a version with a bigger base and four separate metal feet. That works better for me. I'm still a bit wobbly, but that's a natural result of hip replacement, I understand.

This is a very useful cane that you can choose with confidence. The first product that I received was okay except the LED light refused to light. The seller was very fast and responsive and resolved the matter satisfactorily and cheerfully. Normally I'd reduce the rating by one star for this, but frankly the seller handled it so well I am fine with retaining a 5-star score for this product and its seller. This cane is durable and stable; it can extend to a length that is one inch longer than another (much simpler) folding cane that I have. This additional length is helpful for me (I'm 6' tall with a 33" inseam). The articulated foot mechanism works well and helps with the cane's stability. The plastic band that holds the folded cane together, plus the carrying bag, are additional pluses when transporting the cane. The LED light is bright enough, adjustable, and generally useful. About the only constructive criticism that I can offer is that I wish the strap's loop was a bit larger for bigger hands/wrists. I will also say that this cane got the "seal of approval" from my physical therapist, and she's pretty particular. She particularly appreciated the action of the articulating foot, saying "Wow, these have gotten a lot better." So there you go. I am looking forward to the day when my injuries are healed and a no longer need to rely on a cane as a safety measure. But "for the duration," this cane serves me well. It would certainly be fine for longer-term use as well.

The delivery was as expected. This is a great product. It is strong, you can fold it to put it in a small place. It comes with a light that spread wide, and it is very helpful if you get up at night and the lights are off. I’m very happy with my cane.

Not as strong as I hoped

Beautiful and high-quality cane! It's well made and sturdy. I like the way the base is made. It seems to be the right weight to make walking easier. I feel steadier using it. It was a good value for the money!

I liked the design. I didn't like the workmanship of the cane. It unfolded easily and went together easily. However the top piece had a screw cap that did not tighten well and the cane rattled. I was constantly checking the screw cap to make sure that it was as tight as I could make it. When I was in a store my cane fell to the floor because the wrist strap broke off. I sewed it on that night as best as I could. I rely on the strap so that I will not drop t he cane. I contacted the company. Their response was to ask me for a photograph. I don't really see how a photograph was going to show how flimsy the cane was. I definitely would not show the shakiness of the cane. I didn't trust that I would get anything other than another flimsy shaky cane so I decided to return the cane and get a different brand. I can't wait around for the company to decide what, if anything they would do . I have to make an addendum. As I was packing up the cane, I discovered that one of the rubber pads on the bottom was missing. i don't know if it was missing when it arrived. I didn't really look at it. It looked like pad had been glued on. As I said the cane is flimsy.

I bought this cane after a knee injury; it was much easier to use than the crutches. It's very sturdy. I like that it can stand on it's own and has a light right on the handle which is perfect for night time trips to the bathroom. The fact that it folds up is perfect when traveling.

Looks sporty my dad loves it

Very solid cane, made for bigger individuals like me. Folds up in seconds and easy to set up and put away. Easily fits in a large purse or small suitcase.
