Desert Steel Stainless Steel Tanami Outdoor Fire Pit - Wood Burning Fire Pit

I bought this as a gift for my wife and she is absolutely in love with it. We have had many inexpensive firepits over the years, from mild steel bowl style ones to old barrels and stacked bricks, but we wanted something really nice, durable, and somewhat portable. So, when I found this one I was immediately sold. It's a little on the expensive side, but considering how much we've spent on cheap fire pits over the years this one is actually pretty reasonable, especially considering that it should last an extremely long time.I read many reviews that said the assembly was difficult or impossible, but I actually found it quite straightforward and intuitive. But I can see how someone without a decent level of handiness might have a bit of difficulty. Honestly, for me it probably took me longer to peel the protective coatings off of it than to actually assemble it. I will offer this word of caution though, definitely assemble it in the shade because when you are assembling those large extremely shiny curved panels, it will reflect the sun directly into your eyes no matter what direction you are looking at it... I found this out the hard way.. over and over. lolBut overall it has been absolutely wonderful. It works as you would expect for a large bowl style firepit and everyone we've had over raves about how amazing it is. It has started to discolor a little bit where there have been some hot spots, but that is to be expected with stainless steel, and to me doesn't detract at all from the look of it. It's an absolutely beautiful durable well engineered piece and I am thrilled to know it's going to be the centerpiece for making many fun future memories with our family and friends.

Absolute genius design! It takes a little wrestling to assemble but is conceptually simplistic (watch the instruction video). Despite the mild frustration of this wrestling (and I am pretty handy), I kept on exclaiming to my son, "this is absolutely genius!", with a big smile on my face.All the fire pits I have owned rusted through within about 3 years becoming eye-sores in the process. This will last forever and its beauty will not fade. Very sturdy stainless construction!Edited to add: The double layers of sturdy stainless steel are VERY effective at blocking heat radiating through the sides. With a hot bed of coals with a blazing fire, one can still hold your hand against the surface! This is good or bad depending on what you want. For kneeling next to it while roasting marshmallows it is great! For keeping your feet warm in cold weather....not so great (a big drawback for me personally).In the past the fire itself was the star actor, and the fire pit a utilitarian "blob" that was just there on the patio for the 98% of the time that it was not holding the flames. Now we have a piece of art on our patio that is a centerpiece all year round.....a masterpiece that will hold the flames too when called upon.You need to advertise this better - took me way too long to find. People need to know about this!

This is a work of art and it is useful - cannot say that about too many things. Beautifully engineered and well made; it supports itself internally like a bridge with no bolts. Crappy rusting out fire-pits are just another one of life's irritants. This is stainless and should last forever. These guys should get a pat on the back from someone. Pretty cool stuff. Wear gloves when you put together. It's easy once you figure it out. RTFI before you start.Note to the guys who made this: I only found this on Amazon by digging for a while - you should get top billing for this. People will love it.

Bought this stainless steel fire pit after going through so many cheap steel fire pits that wouldn't last for more than a summer. This is extremely high quality, and the stainless steel material will last for a long, long time. It is very beautiful and we love the uniqueness of the design. It took about an hour and a half for my husband to put it together; he followed the instruction video on Youtube. We are extremely happy with this purchase and highly recommend it.

All I can say is that I would buy this pit over and over again. This thing is... it’s built so week you won’t have to.

Wow! This was easier to assemble than I thought, and it burns beautifully. My only complaint is that my unit did not come with a "Desert Steel" branded petal. So I'm constantly answering the, "Who makes your fire pit?" question.

Heavy and hard to move. I have had this about 3 months and it has not rusted yet. It does look nice and has limited heat output.

Once you get going, its pretty simple to assemble. Definitely recommend the gloves once you start assembling. I think it took longer to remove protective tape from each piece than it did putting the unit together
