Works great with DC VA01
Got these for an all Component cable set up and they worked great right out of the box. Colors pop and sound comes out crisp. No issues with video interference. They just work. The packaging is nice and the cable is well built. I have been waiting for a Component solution for the Dreamcast. Here it is.

Amazing quality, but BE WARNED
Like some others, when I got this and plugged it in, nothing came through. No picture, just audio. I was about to return it but realized I had recently modded my Dreamcast hardware to run through 10v as opposed to the 15v it usually has (model 0 JP). Upon linking the 15v line back, it worked immediately. Now that it works, the picture is amazing on a CRT. The absolute cleanest I've ever seen a Dreamcast look in terms of sharpness and colour depth. A must have.

Video signal is not clean.
Others have said the same but it produces bars in the image the scrolls up the immage. Putting your hand over the fan changes it and reverses their direction. This is because the cable does not properly filter out noise from the fan.

Impressive quality on CRT but didnt make the things easy for me
This is a product that i was waiting for more than 13 years to exist! I purchased no brainer, because i was very excited for it...and i don't regret it...But i had to make lotta thing to actually enjoy it! The thing is cable didnt work on my VA 1 HKT-3020 model, which was my main DC on mint conditions. I also had my old VA 2 DC, which is broken (PSU is failing, so it restarts itself and also shows some small image artifacts with some games like Virtua Tennis and Test Drive Le mans...so probably something failing on board or GPU), but cable did actually worked on it!! The brief time i tested the cable on my CRT 480I Panasonic Tau TV it looks AWESOME!! Colors are deeper, image is crisper, believe me...it's like giving new life to your Dreamcast! I wrote to Bitfunx customer service and told them about the issue, because it looked like to an uncompatibility with my exact model (the VA 1 mint one), they told me that on my DC model: "there is a pin in the host video port that cannot output 5V voltage, resulting in the chip of the color difference line not working normally. The sound signal does not pass through the chip, so it can be directly output to the TV". May be this info can help you out if you have the same issue. Also i'm attatching the diagram and instuctions they sent me...it could be helpful. I took my DC to a good friend who is a great retro console techinician and we tested also the cable with several DC's he have on storage for reparation....Cable worked with all of them, so we figure a quicker solution, which was use the board of another VA 1 he had put the GDROM Drive and PSU of mine mint console and Voilá! Finally cable working on a console on good state!! The other issue cable has is that its signal is not completely clean and there are some lines blinking brielfy on the image, like some sort of interference. Is something not visible on most of DC games, because they tend to be colorful, but on black screen moments or darker games, like code veronica, issue is more visible, but is not that distracting...and the improvements on overall image quality really make up for this issue. I attatched a brief video of the issue, testing the cable on a 4K UHD 55' TV...and also forgot to mention, this specific not clean signal issue could be more visible on bigger screens. Also on HDTVs cable looks exaclty as the VGA BOX, so in this specific case could better an HDMI cable that sends the best of VGA signal, like the one Bitfunx themselves sells here in Amazon. Only advantage of this component cable on HDTVs is you can switch to RGBS mode for the games not compatible with VGA and still have a image quality improvement. So finally my advice is...if you want to take out the best of your Dreamcast on a CRT TV, this is the best option available. Period, Even if you have enough room for a CRT PC Monitor to use with VGA, i think is more practical use this Bifunx cable...is easier to find a 21, 29 or 32 inches CRT TV with components than a CRT PC monitor of a good size. If you wanna enjoy your DC on your modern HD or 4K TV, there are better options than this cable...But for me, color fidelity on retro consoles is unmatched on a CRT TV with components!

PERFECT FOR CONSUMER CRT DISPLAY.
I rarely write reviews, but I have been so satisfied by these cables that I felt compelled to do so. If you're looking for a component solution for a consumer CRT TV, these are amazing. The image has that component sharpness, and you get some more depth to the shading on the colors. If I only had a few complaints, I do think it is a bit pricey, and the connection to the actual Dreamcast is pretty finnicky. It's kind of loose, and the connection isn't so snug. You might need to wiggle it a bit till it gets set in place. That said, once you have it, it's a huge improvement over composite. I don't think it'll win over people who just prefer the VGA look (I have the OEM VGA box and a PC CRT as well), but chances are, you are more likely for find a CRT with component on it.

Seems good to me.
Before I begin, I just want to state that I have a modded Dreamcast connected to a CRT with component inputs. With that being said, I connected this product and played several games on it. I don't see any issues on my end. Color, picture, sound all seem decent in my opinion. No issues that I noticed during gameplay.

Not perfect but worth the cost.
I actually returned the first one that I got because like many other users report, these cables produce some artifacts that look like shimmering lines running horizontally across the screen. It doesn't happen all the time, but with certain colors it's pretty obvious. The only other option is the retro gaming cables Dreamcast component cables, but those are twice the price and nearly $100. After considering everything, I ended up buying these cables again because I couldn't justify paying nearly $100 just to fix something like that. These cables are built well and are otherwise a quality product. They are a worthwhile upgrade even when put up against s video. They aren't perfect but I think considering that the only other option is that expensive I find them to be a good compromise as the upgrade in color quality is significant.
