I used to live in North Carolina where I could get the best cornbread and hush puppies. Then I moved to Idaho. Great place, but it has been impossible to find the right kind of corn meal to make these items. I need the corn to be ground as fine as wheat flour. With this purchase I have finally found some. The grind on this corn is perfect, and so was the cornbread I made from it. Even my husband who hates cornbread loved this cornbread.

I always loved the corn dogs that the county fair has every year. I wanted to make my own corn dogs. I have a good deep fryer. The store only had medium ground corn meal. My first attempt at home made corn dogs turned out lumpy. This finely ground yellow corn meal from Amazon helped me to make a really good batter. Home made corn dogs are great

I brought this “Fine” cornmeal as a sort of, experiment. When I was growing up, in Western Pennsylvania, my Mom would always use CornMeal to make her “show case” Breaded Fish (with Cornmeal, not flour). It (I felt) always turned out fantastic! She would always put two cups of Cornmeal within a bag, and some season salt, and a little MSG (and a few other “secret spices” 😉). She would then throw in our favorite fish, and do a “Shake-n-Bake” (less the Bake), and then into a very hot pot of oil. This would (again) turn out (I always thought) to be very good. When I saw this “Fine” cornmeal, I thought I’d try it out (to see if there was any difference, than/from “regular” cornmeal). MAN!! 🤯, what a DIFFERENCE!! With fine cornmeal, the fish turned out even MORE delicious (more “light”, in taste & appearance), and I didn’t have to put/use as much “spice” [or salt🧂] within the bag. With regular cornmeal it was (is) always more “Grity” (like eating small [micro] gravel), but this product you can barely notice the grit! (again, being much more “smooth”) I was completely BLOWN AWAY!! So if you’d like to try a “different” way (taste) then give this “Fine” ground cornmeal a try 😉👍 (The only “negative” is that it is a little more expensive, here [will try to find this, locally]).
