It holds a lot of clothes. The pockets are helpful for organizing things. This is the must item for my international trips!

Purchased 2 for a four week ad hoc European vacation that was fairly unplanned. We used these packs along with small "personal item" size bags and bounced around England, Scotland, France and Spain. I was worried about budget airlines rejecting the bag at 50L unzipped expansion size and EasyJet, Transavia and Volotea never gave the bags a second glance. I was also worried about handles and zippers as we moved around on trains, planes, Ubers and buses and checked one of the bags once and it held up fine. Zero issues with the bag or components. I did used the organizer compartments less and less as the trip went on but still easy to pack them whether properly organizing clothes or simply crammed in. The small organizer was used for toiletries by some, I used for electronics chargers, adapters, cords and spare reading glasses. With the size of bags we did plan on Airbnb's with laundry every few days, but bags were a good size that they held 4-5 days of clothes and were never too heavy for adults nor kids to carry their own stuff.

I was definitely concerned when I saw the size of this backpack that it would not hold all of my clothes for this trip. I'm an XXL guy in literally everything I wear. I packed 2 pairs of pants, 3 pairs of shorts, 6 pairs of boxer briefs, 2 pairs of dress socks, 4 pairs of athletic socks, a pair of size 13 shoes, 2 dress shirts, 2 polos, 3 t-shirts, along with all of my toiletries (the basics) and my phone charger in this backpack. Everything fit!! The compression bags are fantastic for this backpack and I was very surprised how well it fit on my back. I didn't experience any sagging like I've read in other reviews. I packed smartly by putting the shoes on the bottom and just working my way up my back with the lighter stuff on top. I used this bag as my carry-on and was able to stick it in the overhead compartments of my Aer Lingus flight (which has a pretty tight restriction on its bag size). It was able to fit standing on its side in the compartment. It could also fit under the seat, but I'm 6'5" and legroom is at a premium for me on flights. The bag itself weighs a couple pounds, so just take that into consideration when you are packing. I actually have used this bag for work trips as well. I found that a laptop sleeve is helpful to purchase as their is no dedicated space for laptops in this bag. You can use the compression bags, but how do you plan to walk around with your laptop around the office? As far as durability is concerned, I have used this backpack on 7 trips now - always as a carry-on - and haven't noticed any tears or zipper issues. The water resistant packing cube is great at storing a damp rag or razor, but can hold quite a bit. I'm just saying that the water resistance is great as well with no leaks.

If you are looking for a hybrid suitcase/regular backpack, this isn't it. You won't find a slot on the outside to hold your umbrella/water bottle, a place to charge your phone, or a slot to put your laptop. It's a backpack that is indeed a suitcase. There is one small (pen holder, zippered mesh slot for keys) and two large compartments on the outside (not large enough for a laptop, but large enough for a smaller tablet, kindle or a small folding umbrella) , and a large hidden compartment on the backside (much larger than most). There's no place to tuck in the straps. It opens up like a clam shell with the one side offering no netting or slots. The main packing area is HUGE, and that's without expanding it. I found out quickly because mine came so misshapen and wrinkled (it certainly doesn't look smooth like the photos), that I stuffed it full of clean laundry. You can barely tell it has anything in it! This thing is ready for some serious packing; it could easily hold multiple days of clothes. It comes with three very nice black packing cubes: a large one that is the length of the inside of the backpack, a medium, and a smaller one that is more waterproof for liquids. The backpack has a very nice what appears to be waterproof interior lining, and the outside material appears to be at least water resistant. I will revise my review once I take it on the road in a few weeks. UPDATE: I used it for my 2-day trip to NYC and it worked like a charm! I definitely could have packed so much more in it. I walked a LOT with the backpack on my back ,and the padding on the straps and on the back (and the buckle across the chest) were comfortable. I had no problem with the zippers breaking or any signs of stitching unraveling. The only slight drawback is that, despite all the packing, it is still slightly wrinkled after having it for nearly a month! But I'm not making a fashion statement, I just want something that works for me. And this travel backpack definitely does! UPDATE 12/20/25. This backpack has been with me on several European trips and recently to French Polynesia. On the latter, on my return flight home I was able to lay it flat enough to place in my check-in suitcase (since I no longer needed it for an extra pair of clothes as backup). AND I lost it on a trip to Canada. While trying to get it back to the States via FedEx (don't use them for international shipping!!) it traveled multiple destinations before it reached me and it held up like a champ!

This carry-on backpack is the best thing I’ve bought for the airport! I traveled with American Airlines using my carry-on luggage and this backpack, and had no problems at all. I could take everything I needed for my trip. The quality is great, and there’s plenty of space to stay organized.

Went to Japan with only this bag and it packs so much! I didn’t really use the packing cubes and the zipper pulls all immediately came off, but the bag itself is practical and comfortable
