Loved the format of the book, with inside and intimate perspectives of JFK Jr. from his friends and colleagues in their own words. I have read every book written about John and I believe this to be the best one with details that were not included in other books and that I also believe some details from other publications were either confirmed, clarified or denied. The authors did a very good job in my opinion of letting the reader get to know John through the words of his friends. He could be generous, kind, scatter-brained and reckless.....a young man, his wife and sister-in-law gone far too soon.

When I started this book! I wondered if there was anything else for me to learn about JFK, Jr. In fact, there was. A lot. I so appreciated the multiple, nuanced, and deeply human perspectives about John by dear ones throughout his life. He seems like he was a truly kind, funny, graceful, and thoroughly decent soul. We could all learn a lot from the way that he embraced joy, his dear ones, and life. The world has lost three bright lights, for sure.

RoseMarie Terenzio’s oral biography of JFK Jr. is an emotional powerhouse. Her intimate portrayal of John offers a deeply personal lens into his life, character, and the unique pressures he faced. The book beautifully humanizes a man who often seemed larger than life. But those final chapters? They hit like damn hard. Terenzio captures the immense loss in a way that’s both tender and devastating, making it impossible not to feel the profound void left by his absence. I found myself sobbing through the last pages. This isn’t just a story about JFK Jr. it’s a testament to a singular soul who was as complex and genuine as he was iconic. Rosemarie’s candid storytelling reminds us there truly was only one John.

I was really surprised at how well this book flowed. It was organised in an easy to read format with excellent storytelling. It was like being in a room with John F. Kennedy Junior‘s friends having a great chat. It’s gonna take me a while to fully process.. the more I learned about this man the more I realise how much we lost on that day in 1999.
