Absolute gem of a rice cooker
I was using a saucepan and the 2:1 ratio (2 parts water, 1 part rice) but the cooking was always iffy, trying not to burn the rice or the pan, sometimes the rice came out too watery, or nicely cooked but the pan was difficult to clean afterwards. Call me lazy yeah.So I decided to invest on a rice cooker, I didn't want anything that could feed an army regiment, just a small rice cooker. So based on the fact that most reviews on Amazon are being pay offs, I was very sceptical on choosing my first rice cooker. I was between this and another German one, finally chose this because of the lower price compared to the German model. And I'm glad I did cause there nothing not to love about the Bear!Rice? Perfection! Simply the best rice I ever made without stressing myself, or being on top of it while it cooks. The steaming basket? The huge bonus for me (which has actually opened new horizons in my diet). The basket is enough for a couple of regular persons or one with a huge appetite like myself :D So cooking rice while steaming anything on the basket is a huge benefit for me, as it basically means that you hit two birds with one stone (I don't want to sound vulgar to our little fluffy feathered flying friends - this statement excludes pigeons of course, which are annoying beggars). Two different foods in one cooking: less washing up! Happy times!Ease of use? 3 step function! Fill it up with contents - Choose what kind of rice (or soup, porridge etc) you want to make and press start. Let it heat and cook under an extractor, go do your thing and come back after a while with an empty plate to fill and eat (actually avoid eating the plate, they are very crunchy let me tell ya).So far i haven't been adventurous in making soups etc so I cannot comment on these, however the rice (long grain. basmati and brown) and steamed vegetables, prawns, frankfurters that I usually put on are out of this world. One thing to note is that the Bear (being a bear) is quite slow. Especially when cooking brown rice, which took about 50 minutes in my case. White rice generally takes about 30 minutes or so. The amazing thing about the bear is that it won't overcook or burn your food, once it is ready the device stops cooking and keeps it warm till you press the start/stop button on the lid. Which actually is a gem if you are a gamer, or if you watch a move and have forgotten about the food (which I do like 9 in 10 times). If you are thinking which rice cooker to buy, the bear is a gorgeous choice. It will feed 2 hungry individuals well with rice and steamed whatever, it cleans very easily and won't break the bank. Plus it not one of those wild bears that will destroy your house looking for the honeypot. It is nice and compact and can be stored easily till next time use.Amazing cooker, very happy with it! As the Brits say: "does what it says on the tin" (and is really good at it)

Good value for money. I was surprised how much I found this a useful item.
Makes rice cooking a breeze. Just add to the pot and leave it which is one less thing to think about when making several dishes. I make a LOT of rice (at least 5 times a week) and I can't believe it's taken me this long to get one. Rice is not sticky (follow instructions). The heat level is good and rice comes out really nice. Sometimes I open the lid to let steam escape from basmati to stop it getting wet/sticky on Keep Warm mode. Could benefit from clearer instructions on Rice/Water/Cups ratio as I had to look for a Youtube video. Basically, use the cup to measure the rice and then put water in to the corresponding number level inside the pot (so, 1 cup of rice, fill to number 1 on the inside of the pot). Good value for money.

A must have!
Love this rice cooker. I've never used a rice cooker before but with a full time job and a family who has rice almost daily I thought I'd take a chance. This works so well and produces perfect rice every time. A quick online search yielded videos with tips for cooking. This easily cooks enough for 5 people and keeps the rice hot for hours. I can set it to go in the morning and come home to perfect rice for dinner. The pot washes really easily and it takes up very little counter space

Nice
This is such a nice little cooker. I struggled with cheap cookers for years. Invest a little bit extra and buy this to get better results. This thing is intelligently built. Just the right size and functionality.

Perfect rice every time
Great product, quite compact in size and cooks rice perfectly every time. Works very well for both white and brown rice. The cooking time is not the quickest (can take about 20 minutes for white rice and 40 minutes for brown rice) but the end results are worth it. The components are high quality and easy to clean. Overall, great value for money.

Lack of instructions
Had good reviews, used for the first time today had to spend ages googling ratios and Bears website just says check the manual but there is NO details anywhere. Went with a 2:1 ratio for brown rice and an hour and a half later it’s still going ???? Dosnt say how long it will take, no idea of what it’s doing or when it will end. Have to say not happy with this machine, wouldn’t recommend if never used a rice cooker.

Perfect rice cooker
Such a cute looking rice cooker and makes way more rice than I expected from description. 4 cups fed 8 people. Normally make 2cups for family of 4 and still some left. Took a while to find instructions on here. 1 cup rice (cup supplied) to water level 1, 2 cups to water level 2 etc and just press rice and it will cook until ready. Lovely soft rice, used basmati.
