Can someone please briefly explain how this works?

Basically a group of people dress up and have a good meal while reading about their character. They are allocated the character and is NOT shared with other guests. A victim has been murdered and one of the group is advised that they did the deed. By questioning the others you have to work out who did it. All the information is in the box and they are excellent fun.

How do you know who the characters are before hand to dress up in character?

Firstly sort out how many dinner guest you are inviting then you give your guest a character a couple of weeks before so they have time to get stuff, or you could get things in from Amazon or charity shops when they are open and take a chance they fit.
