Would buy again
Purchased for a fruit fly outbreak. Didn’t seem to do much and I had to resort to other methods. But I checked it after many weeks and it had multiple flying insects. So it does work well, it’s just not a “quick fix” and more of a long term option. I’ll be ordering the replacement sticky cards to keep using it.

Worth it!
My husband and I have quite the collection of houseplants going on. We recently had a huge unexpected surge of those little brown gnats that hang around plants and pelt you in the face, especially in our bathroom with a south facing window, which doubles as a houseplant retreat when they look like they need a little sunlight infusion. We also have had a smaller, but still annoying, surge in our bedroom, which also has houseplants in it. Yesterday I decided I’d had enough and bought what I originally thought was a totally bougie and unnecessary purchase, these little light traps. Why would I spend almost $30 on two little plugins when there are so many alternatives? BECAUSE: -These are nowhere near as hideous and gross looking as regular fly traps. You do not see the flies until you remove them and they are small and sleek looking. -They attract the bugs with light, so I don’t have to just hope that the bugs wander into the trap. -They are chemical free which is important to me with an extremely curious toddler in the house. We also tried home remedies like soapy water and apple cider vinegar to no avail, just a stanky vinegary bathroom, these have no smell and actually work. -They are super easy to install, you just peel the backing off the card, slide it into the unit, plug it in and let it do its thing. -It’s silent, you’re only aware of it because of the light, which my husband didn’t love, but he doesn’t love gnats pelting him in the face more, so we’ll take it. -It is super easy to clean and dispose of, it’s not unruly like regular fly traps. I didn’t want to spend money on this initially and put it off till I couldn’t stand it anymore, I wish I had just bought them earlier. They are amazing. I’ve seen some complaints about these not treating the root cause of the problem/gnats and flies coming back. Obviously, these won’t kill eggs or prevent other bugs from coming into your house. But blaming the product for that is like buying a treadmill and then complaining that though it did help you exercise and did exactly what it said it would do, it didn’t stop you from overeating your favorite junk foods. This does exactly what it’s supposed to do. These photos are from one night, less than 12 hours, the difference is noticeable in our house. We assumed it would be more effective at night because it’s the only light source attracting the bugs. This may be my favorite purchase of 2024. My only complaint is that there is some kind of residue on the plug in itself which smears the printed on label, is a bit sticky and left black fingerprints around(last picture). It came off when I washed my hands but this was annoying. This happened before we even touched the sticky paper, so we know it’s an issue with the actual plugin unit. Still worth it to us.

They are decent to use needs to come with more fly paper cards.
Works pretty well however if you have a lot of those tiny flys to catch there is no way 2 of these will last 60 days. Mine were full in about 2 weeks. They definitely need to come with more than the 2 fly paper cards. Even the refill ones you only get 12. So, for that reason alone I would not buy more of these. I also don’t feel that they attract the flys as good as the see through plug in fly traps. Those ones have the sticky stuff on both sides and catch 4 times the amount of flys. However if you have pets these are more pet friendly because they do only have the sticky stuff only on the side closest to the wall so your pets are less likely to get stuck to them or play with them. I use these in the plugs that are lower to the ground and the see through ones in all the higher plugs. They are very easy to install and remove. I am sure they are pretty durable and will last a while however again prepare to have to buy new fly paper cards frequently as they don’t sell a very large box of them.

Works great.
Awesome, simply awesome. These work just as described. One night a mosquito came buzzing around me while trying to get to sleep. You know the sound and how annoying that could be. Immediately got on Amazon searching for some kind of bug killing device safe for me and the dog. This one device, is silent, completely non-toxic, and gives off a soft purple glow shielded by the bug shield, the opposite side of which holds the sticky film that catches bugs. Cost of the Plug-In Trap and any replacement shields is very reasonable, especially since they're extremely effective.

Kitchen fruit fly problem basically eliminated
We had a persistent gnat and fruit fly situation in the kitchen that was driving us crazy. I installed these refill cards on two Safer Home trap units and within a few days the bug population dropped off significantly. We swap the cards out roughly every week and each fresh card catches a noticeable amount of bugs. The sticky surface works exactly as intended and the cards are easy to slide in and out of the traps. After a couple weeks of consistent use, the flies are basically a non-issue now throughout the rest of the house.

Easy Plug-In Solution for Flying Bugs”
I use the Safer Home Indoor Plug-In Fly Trap in my house during the summer, and it works as designed. It does a good job of attracting and trapping flying insects, which helps keep things under control indoors. It’s easy to use—just plug it in and let it do its job. I also like that it’s a cleaner solution compared to sprays or swatters. Overall, it’s a simple and effective way to deal with flying insects inside the home. I would recommend it for anyone looking for an easy, low-maintenance solution.

Basically flypaper with blue light.
The device is quite simple. It plugs into a standard AC socket in your home and it makes a blueish purple light. Many but not all flying insects tend to like that light spectrum and will gravitate around it. The card attached to the device is essentially one-sided sticky fly paper. Any insect trying to get close to the light will likely walk over the lit up card surface facing the socket and become stuck there and die. The appeal of already dead insects on a card will often attract even more. You occasionally replace the card when it is covered in dead insects or when the sticky material no longer works. Many bugs could care less about blue light and will 1st go to the tastiest source of food first. Most insects are also attracted to the carbon dioxide you breath out. Also lights nearby that are brighter than this will attract the insect first. These traps work best in a dark room with no other lights and no snacks available to them. If you are providing sources of food or sweaty people or pets or other light distractions, youll find these useless. These will tend to trap those insects curious about the light. Also large flies will sometimes just rip their trapped legs off on the sticky area and fly away to live another day. So depending on your type of flying bugs and their feeding habits, you may or may not catch anything with these. For me here in AZ, we get tiny little brown gnats that come in the cracks in doorways or dry drains and constantly buzz human faces for that CO2 hit they crave. They are attracted to lights and land all around them. They are so tiny and fast that swatting them is almost impossible. We have ponds within a block or two and so they hatch there and then seek out the lights elsewhere. I can fill one of those hanging fly strips in a month. But those fly strips are ugly and smell bad. I sure wouldnt have a big fly strip where anyone can see the dead bugs or where there is food cooked or consumed. I plugged in one of these devices in my kitchen and one in my bathroom and one in my living room and one in my bedroom. They work for trapping these tiny annoying gnats. This device serves the same purpose as a fly strip with the added benefit of a light attracting them to it. The ugly dead bug side of the card faces the wall socket. You only see what looks like a night light and white card. You wont likely even notice it in the daytime. While I don't like having to pay $25 or so for refills, I hate gnats buzzing me more. Usually within an hour of a gnat getting inside, its found its way to the trap. Although I havent tried it, you could probably also stick some sort of dry bait to the card to further entice their interest. I did deduct 1 star because it isn't foolproof and some flying insect types just dont care if it's there or not and will ignore it.

WORKS GREAT - BOUGHT TWICE!
This product works great! I am a very honest reviewer. I was just trying to get rid of a few bugs that had flown in when we leave the back door open on a good day. I caught way more than I expected! If you don’t have at least one of these in your home then you’re not helping yourself. Get them! I bought the 2 pack twice and now have 4 of them. No more bugs flying in or staying in!
