The little mp3 player that could!
Been using this mp3 player nearly every day during weekdays at work for almost 3 months now and the little bugger still works great. I have couple of different sets of Bluetooth speakers I connect this mp3 player up to, depending on what work I'm doing. Noisy work means beefier speakers and less noise means smaller speakers will be fine. The higher the volume, the worse the battery life is for the speakers but also for this device. I tend to use this device at roughly 26 or 27 out of a max volume of 31 when using speakers and it'll run 7-8 hours without a hitch, though battery life itself is nearing 10% or so at that point. If you just use earbuds, I imagine battery life could be 18 to 20 hours no problem. In terms of Bluetooth connectivity, once connected everything stays connected. I routinely move more than 30 ft away from my speakers with thus device in my pocket and connectivity has never once dropped. Quite impressive in this respect. Charging takes less than two hours, typically around 1-1/2 hours (90 minutes) from where I drain it down to back to full charge. I have a dedicated wall charger for it, but even plugged into a usb port of a PC it still doesn't take very long to charge at all. And speaking of usb ports and connectivity, I've been able to detect it in Windows as well as in several flavors of Linux without any hiccups. Simple drag and drop files to a MUSIC folder and you're good to go. I use a 128gb microSD card in mine for my music and it plays tracks flawlessly. Even has a shuffle feature, though to be honest there's a lot to be desired for how shuffled the songs are -- repeats are far too frequent for my liking but your mileage may vary. I wish the power button was at the very top and not the third button down (first two are volume up and volume down), but thankfully tapping on the power button by mistake only turns your screen off instead of powering down the device. Minor annoyance at best when considering how reliable the device itself is. The touchscreen can be a touch unresponsive from time to time, but generally it does fine once it registers the taps -- device will 'hiccup' or stutter a little bit if it was turned off forcibly (holding power button for four seconds) and then immediately turned back on and synced via Bluetooth with the speaker you were playing out of. It remembers the Bluetooth speaker and what song you were playing but is a little slow to give you touchscreen functionality while the playback starts back up. Again, small inconvenience that is easily negated by waiting for just a couple extra seconds once the music is going. In terms of size and appearance, even with the silicone case on, it will fit inside of the coin pocket in my jeans. Very snug, but still fits there. This makes it very portable. Technically, the device has a built-in speaker but it sounds very tinny because it's a tiny speaker... and sounds horrible inside of clothing pockets. I use this mp3 player exclusively for mp3 playback, but it does have built-in support for mp4 amd and avi movies, as well as a FM radio (when you have wired headphones or wired earbuds plugged in). So, for what it is and what it does... it's a pretty neat gadget and definitely possesses value for the money. I'd also like to note that I flashed the device to its newest firmware update and it seems to have a better battery life from doing so and it reads microSD cards higher than the 64gb max read capacity it claims to have. Hope this helps!

Great product with the right expectations
For $30, it's hard to go wrong with this. I'm able to drag and drop music from iTunes with no problems. If you do a little effort to make sure the metadata is what you want it to be, moving the files over will work as-desired. I don't make playlists. Can you? I think, but you have to do it with the player and that is time-consuming. I assign genres and use genres as my playlists. Is the UI clunky? Yeah. If you go deep into menus you have to manually back your way every level. There's not a quick "home" to start you over. Sorry. Want to be able to read the screen in daylight? Sorry. You're screwed. This thing connects easily to all of my bluetooth devices. It plays music. It's light and small. Also, it's $30. If you don't like figuring out how to make a player like this work for you, buy something more expensive. Don't like the "limited" storage capacity? I dunno. It holds a ton of files. Maybe store files on multiple microsd cards and pretend you're making mixtapes for your ex-gf who broke up with you for a guy who's capable of beating Zelda without the cheat codes.

Mechen 64 GB Player is outstanding
I bought this as a replacement for my old mP3 player that died. Pros: Well built solid player. Takes a 256 GB micro SD card (and maybe even larger) Good sound quality Bluetooth pairs easily Long battery life Cons: Touchscreen response a little slow (and hard to get accurate on small screen) Once a song is on the SD card can't reorder files When loading lots of songs, searching for song is a long process Earbuds supplied with player are of low quality Transferring files with supplied USB C is slow (maybe not USB A 3.0) Overall this is one of the best players I have owned and I highly recommend it. This review was unsolicited and I purchased this player for myself. Update 8-18-2024 I just formatted a 512 GB memory card. It works well with the player and can take a lot of music files. Update 8-29-2024 I have discovered that while this player can use a 512 GB memory card it does reduce the amount of time between charges by more than half to do so. Apparently the extra memory uses more power. Update 10-2-2024 With 128 GB card the charge lasts about 20 hours With 256 GB card the charge lasts about 8-10 hours With 512 GB charge the charge lasts about 4 hours. To re-alphabetize files go to music and have the player rescan the sd card

Love this player!!!!
It’s pretty amazing what you get for the price. I have a lot of older iPods, classics, touches and shuffles. I love my iPods, but the classics are dated since they have no Bluetooth, and even the touches that have Bluetooth aren’t compatible with my new car stereo. Plus battery life on all of them is dwindling to nothing. So I was looking for something affordable (cheap) that wasn’t a piece of junk. I did a ton of research here, and read all the reviews. For the cost this was the one that seemed to have the best bang for your buck. And I was right, it’s got great usable features and it’s solidly built. Very impressive at this price point. They even throw in a silicone protective case, which I love. It’s small so the case makes it easier to grip and not drop. It has a touch screen, although small but I’d rather have a a small unit then a large screen. It has really good sound quality and 64g of internal storage plus it’s expandable with a SD card. It holds an huge library of music with just the 64g and if you have more you can use the SD card. It also pairs with my new Kenwood car stereo with current Bluetooth compatibility. So ok, right there these features already have the old iPods beat by a long shot. And for the price… if I drop it, lose it, it gets stolen, etc I’m not out a couple hundred bucks. At first I was frustrated it just would not pair with my car stereo. So I got another cheap one here and it had the same issues, and the second one I got was just plastic junk compared to this one! But eventually it paired, and while pairing it, I figured out a way to pair this one. Was really a matter of powering this unit and my car stereo on and off until it was recognized. Ya it was hard at first and probably more user error than anything since this car stereo is brand new to me, but once it found it, it’s locked in. I can power off the player and turn my truck off and when I turn it back on they pair automatically without having to do anything in a matter of seconds! I’m totally impressed with this. So much that right after I’m done writing this, I’m buying another one. Oh, and I contacted customer service for a few tips and they are excellent in response time and helpfulness.

Looks good. Works poorly.
Thought this would be good. And at a good price. Started out good. But bought this so I could keep it in my pocket as I would do yardwork - raking leaves, mowing the yard. Used to have a little Clip Jam, I think that was the brand. Nothing fancy but worked for years very well except that eventually the micro hole got bent. So thought I'd try this one. First of all, very small type. Hard to read. Secondly, it will move to another song or audio file without reason. Not because anything was bumped. Simply plays something for a while and then goes to the next song. Totally without cause. And thirdly, the sound is not that great. OK for listening to people speak from MP3 talks. But music sound not as good as some of the cheaper things you can get at the retail stores. A real disappointment. Was going to send it back. And just get a refund. Didn't even want to bother with a replacement. But having it in my pocket created small scratches on the screens and figured they would not take it back. Waste of money. Going back to the old stuff that I had before.

Unbeatable value for the price!
I got this for my 8 and 10 year old kids so they can discover music when they want, without being on a phone or app. Good ole' fashioned musical exploration. If you can plug a USB device into your computer and you've got some music files to add, you're gonna love this. It's simple to operate. For 30$, it packs a lot of features. There's a maximum volume set option (again, great for kids.) The sound quality is honestly better than I expected. There's an equalizer in the device as well, so you can tweak the sound a little. I didn't realize it also has a radio function, and you can record little audio clips from the radio. Also there's a voice recorder option. The worst thing about it so far is the touch screen. It's dated and not as fast as what everyone is used to now. There's also bluetooth. It just is impressive, the amounts of little functions it has. It's definitely worth a try for the price. Also if my kids lose it, I won't be hurting too badly, unlike iPods back in the day that were hundreds of dollars. If I encounter issues with using it, I'll update the review. Sincerely, a millenial Mom who had rediscovered the joy of having an Mp3 player and NOT using Spotify.

Good MP3 player with minor inconvenience
Pros: • Great Battery Life: Long-lasting battery ensures extended use without frequent charging. • Reliable Bluetooth: Seamless Bluetooth connectivity without issues. • Affordable: Good value for the price. Cons: • USB-C Cable Issues: The included cable wasn’t recognized by my computer; required purchasing additional cables. • Navigation Flaws: No direct way to access the home menu; requires multiple taps on the back button. • Album Art Display: Album covers displayed fine on my phone without extra steps, but didn’t show up on the MP3 player initially. After writing custom code on my computer and running each MP3 file through it, the images displayed correctly unless the song had an LRC file. Overall, this MP3 player is budget-friendly and functional but comes with some minor frustrations, especially in terms of navigation and album art display.

Performs its job admirably
Performs its job as a portable music player admirably. I don't even miss my ipod with this player. Good construction quality. Not too light. Not too heavy. The user interface looks a little out of date, and hence the four stars instead of five, but I already knew that before I purchased it. The song title text is a little small but navigation has still been manageable and trouble-free nonetheless. I sometimes have a little trouble connecting in my car using a cable where the cable is connected but the player is not recognized by the car stereo system. However, I'm starting to think that might have been user error rather than an issue with the player. The last time I had that issue shutting the player off and then on fixed it immediately. Once Mechen updates the user interface this will be a five star player for me. Update November 11th, 2025. It was great while it lasted but today I had it playing in my car and I went over a minor pot hole and two seconds later that was it. It stopped working and I can't get it to turn on again. I thought maybe it had just run out of charge but it hasn't turned on even after being plugged in for what should be enough time to charge. It took me weeks to load all my songs on this and it's all gone. It didn't even last two full months. I can't believe it. Update November 12th 2025: I have to do yet another update as the player has seemed to have recovered from not being able to turn on for 24 hours. I just tried the power button again and this time the Mechen logo popped up in response. The battery indicator showed the player was low on charge so I immediately plugged it in and now it's charging. I can't explain why it wouldn't turn on for a day. Maybe it was just sick of me and needed a break. I can understand that. I am updating my review back to four stars from three. Hopefully, this will be my final update.
