I wouldn't say anything in this kit is 5 star worthy by any means, but I'll review each item individually:-The mug is decent, but in my opinion, you can't really mess that up.-The shavette is pretty good for a starter, it holds the blades tightly and this style is pretty much industry standard. but it doesn't stand out in any way.-The brush is TRASH, hairs fall out regularly and they're flimsy.-The soap is worse than trash! You wont get a good lather worked up and if you do it provides almost no lubrication.-The brush holder and leather slip are decent but the dont help you shave, so thats a nonissue.If you decide to buy this, also buy a new brush and "Prorasso" shave soap (I also recommend their before and after shave). You can replace the mug provided for a bowl or mug in your kitchen cabnet. All said and done. I wish I'd spent more on a better shavette since Im buying a new lather and brush less than a month after getting this kit
