Brilliant piece of kit. Fast and great

I thought a lot of the good reviews were fake and that I’m going to be getting a Barely functional print copier, I was wrong! Now if your going to buy this (on sale for £90 is a steal honestly) for home use now and then this is fantastic, I only bought it because I need some documents copied and some papers printed and it did the trick no problems so far. Quality isn’t anything special but it does what you need it to, if you are printing art or anything it’s probably not going to give you fantastic quality but for word documents and passport photocopy it’s great, get it on sale if your just a home user! (Images with lots of black on cheap paper are wrinkly, other than that I’m not relying on printing images so it’s fine for my use)

Have used HP with no problems for many years, so elected to remain with them when I renewed this time. The printer was easy to set-up, but would not stay connected to wifi (router in same room) - having to power down each time to restore. After a few days the first printer failed with an error code that HP support could not identify. They sent a replacement (efficiently) and arranged pickup of the defective unit. Same issues with second unit with regard to wifi connectivity. But then found that only one of three accounts on the home PC could print (with identical set-up). Spent several hours trying to overcome with no success. Final straw was that the HP applications then blocked all efforts to print (or save) to pdf. As this is essential for us we returned the printer and chose a Canon instead. Stil having issues despite removing HP Smart, that it will not remove (and stay removed) from the Printer option. It re-appears every day - even though HP Smart has actually been removed. This has been the worst experience I have had with any peripheral to date.

Great printer

Have been using this printer for the best part of 2 months now, here are some of my thoughts: Positives - print quality is very clear. Good size for a home office. Cost was very reasonable. Negatives - Connection keeps disconnecting from my mobile device so I have to keep restarting the printer until it gets a connection. Numerous printing errors (will print a couple of pages then pack in half way through printing out a page, resulting in me having to restart the process) and it is so slow to start printing. My advice would be to never print in a hurry, takes about 5 to 10 minutes to start printing. Overall, I do regret buying this model of printer. Although reasonably priced, it is not value for money in my opinion.

Highly suspected this product would not stand the test of time and I was right - it seemed flimsy and made dreadful noises the minutes I started using it. No good for moderate printing use. After 6 months it stopped printing properly despite new cartridges being installed. HP support advised cleaning and re-alignment but that failed to rectify the problem. Only buy if you will be a really light user and even then I'd say you're taking a chance!

* update. Printer has been 'repaired' but now has 'unusable' fault!! you couldnt make this up. i have spent 20 minutes on hold with amazon to be told to try calling back tomorrow. I would not recommend this printer. It wasnt easy to set up as continued to have issues being connected via WIFI. only eased by connecting with wire. Some days it would print first time others i have to mess about a bit before hand. It regularly decides it cannot print clearly and needs a printhead alignment for printhead cleaning. I feel like im going through lots of ink and wasting paper for this. The printhead alignment is complete and looks good and then the next print quality is poor. I went to register a warranty claim but it says with HP my warranty is expired. I havent even had the printer a year. So provided evidence to dispute this. I have always had HP and they were trusted. but honestly now I have wasted so much time trying to print I wouldnt purchase again.
