It's expensive foam but does the job
Expensive for what it is. If people assume this is different from any other foam packaging or foam you buy else where you're wrong

These are far from cheap, but they do a good job of baffling & deadening noise compared to cheaper products I've used.

Chose your profile carefully.
If you have a relative who is into drumming, you will know how useful these sound deadening panels are ... actually, strike useful ... essential, not only for your own sanity, but for the sake of your neighbours as well. The Ultimate Acoustic UA-WPW-24 panels are supplied as 2 x 2ft panels, with a 2 inch wedge profile. They are well constructed with good dense foam, are easy to fix onto doors or walls and are supplied with adhesive pads ... they are also easy to cut to shape. These are specifically designed to cut mid to high frequencies ... so the bass may still get through ... but there are other profile choices.Yes they are expensive, and if you want to kit out a whole room, then you will run to several hundred pounds ... cheaper and less effective alternative are available.

Prepare to be baffled!
Whilst these baffles may seem expensive, their price is actually pretty normal for such items. I admit, I cannot afford more at this price, and I would definitely like to be able to tile a bigger section of my wall. That said, they arrived securely packaged and they're easy to adhere to the surface of your choice. I use mine just to aid my spoken vocals, although I have worked in a studio environment before, and we used this particular style of baffle to facilitate music recording. I would definitely recommend these acoustic treatments.

A good but expensive option - you only get one chance to stick them to your wall
Back in July 2015 I bought an 8 pack of Pro Acoustic foam wedge tiles that I'm guessing are a direct competitor to these Ultimate Acoustics tiles. There are other companies making similar acoustic tiles but these are the only two companies I have experience of.There are some obvious differences. These Ultimate Acoustics tiles are 24 inches by 24 inches, so they're big. Two tiles are supplied with a total surface area of 8 square feet. The Pro Acoustic tiles were 12 inches by 12 inches, sold in a pack of 8, so the same coverage, but the individual tiles are a quarter the size. The foam of these Ultimate Acoustics tiles is not very dense, so the only acoustic properties they seem to have is of deflecting and diffusing echoes. They make your room sound more dead, less live, they remove bright sounds and kill echoes. The foam of the Pro Acoustics tiles is denser, but seems to be aimed at the same task - neither will stop sound passing through them and through a wall they are attached to. They don't attempt to deaden transmitted sound, something that would require a much denser and heavyweight material that isn't porous. Now this is where it gets interesting for me - the nightmare I had trying to attach my old Pro Acoustic foam tiles to the space that I was trying to deaden. Nothing would stick to the tiles. Supposedly I could use some kinds of glue, but nothing I tried worked, so every few days I'd find one of them had simply fallen off. I ended up sticking them to foot square self-adhesive vinyl tiles from Homebase, and then actually sewing them on because it didn't matter how much glue I used, they wouldn't stick. I then stapled through the tiles onto the surface I was attaching them to. This ultimate solution worked but looks ugly.By contrast, these Ultimate Acoustics tiles are supplied with eight 1cm square clear sticky things, four per tile. At first I thought they were ridiculous - if I couldn't stick the Pro Acoustic tiles with glue covering their whole surface how could four such small stickers work on a tile that's four times the size? Well they do work, and if anything, they work too well. They're a little tricky to stick down because you have to peel off a protective layer that doesn't like to come off, but once you attach them to a wall, the foam of the tiles is weaker than the sticker, so when you remove them the tile tears. Only a little bit, but it leaves a little 1cm square patch of tile material on your wall.So my recommendation is that you only stick these tiles to a wall when you're absolutely sure where they need to go, because you don't really get much of a second chance. The other thing that separates these tiles is that the Pro Acoustic tiles were smelly, and remained smelly for about two weeks. These Ultimate Acoustics tiles are less smelly, and the smell dissipates faster.Sound-wise I don't think there is much to choose between them, so if you don't mind the smell and the lack of stickiness then you'll be OK with the Pro Acoustic tiles. However, if you want tiles that stick on walls where you put them, then these Ultimate Acoustics tiles are a good if expensive option.

Ridiculously expensive
Two tiles for how much? You have to be joking!
